[Kender Bard]

Pandora shielded her eyes as she ascended the path towards the gates of Maelstrom. "Been a long time since I was last here," she commented to Darin. "It's no Ilyamen, but I'm told the wolves here tend to walk out in the open instead of lurking in the gutter where they belong."

[Devon]

Darin walked beside Pandora as the two of them approached the gates of Maelstrom. "Sound like a real charming town," he replied back. "If that is true it'll make it easier to find these two guys. I hope they don't resist too much." Darin paused and shook his head with a grin, "I'm such a liar. I do hope they resist."

[Kender Bard]

Pandora chuckled. "Any idea where we should start looking first? Ideally, taverns, yes... But anywhere else that you could hazard?"

[Devon]

Darin pondered on this for a moment before idly glancing at Pandora. "Hm well I haven't spent much time in Maelstrom so I have no idea where the mercs in this town usually hang out."

[Kender Bard]

"Then we'd best try the taverns," Pandora muttered. She shook a finger playfully at Darin. "Don't get drunk in the process, do you hear me?"

[Devon]

"Yes ma'am. I'm all about business today." Darin gave her a sideways glance, "I'll have a harder time trying not to get mad if we find those guys and they hit on you."

[Kender Bard]

"You think they will?" Pandora asked, genuinely curious and more than a little amused. "If anyone troubles me, I'll just flash my fangs or tongue. That sends most men screaming the other way." She grinned at him, toothily. "You're one of the few exceptions I've met."

[Devon]

Darin starts to walk a little bit ahead of Pandora, glancing over his shoulder at her he replies, "I hope the list of exceptions doesn't get any bigger. I'd hate to have to break a man's arm so I don't have to compete for your attention."

Amaro's currently sitting in one of the larger local taverns, half hidden in the shadows as he sips his drink. A little fishing had revealed that the man he was seeking could well be the high priest of Tead, but he found nothing new on Saph, just the rumors that he was dead. Amaro sighes and takes another sip. It seems Naurorod is his best shot.

[Kender Bard]

Laughing warmly, Pandora sidles into the nearest tavern with Darin, looking around. Most of the patrons looked like your average peasant hoping to enjoy a drink. Spotting Amaro, though, she takes in his appearance, notes his weapons. She nudges Darin and nudges in Amaro's direction. "Merc," she whispers in his ear. "I bet."

[Devon]

Darin glances at Amaro and gages his appearance for a few moments. "I bet you're right, but do you think he is our guy. We're looking for a pair, he looks like a loner." Darin watches Amaro for a while more, before grinning at Pandora. "Oh well, let's just say hello." Heading over to Amaro's table, Darin taps the table and asks, "Mind if I join you?"

"I'm not looking for work," Amaro replies bluntly, before looking up and eying Darin. "But somehow I doubt you're looking to hire. What do you want?"

[Kender Bard]

"How well do you know the area?" Pandora asked briskly. "And any other mercenaries in the area?" She glanced around but nobody else caught her eye.

"The area, I know that well," Amaro replies. "As for other mercenaries, that depends entirely on why you want to know... And what you're prepared to pay." He gives the pair a wary look, thinking the pair look like mercs theirselves and wondering if they're on a job.

[Devon]

"I'll buy you a round of drinks or trade information as professional courtesy, but I don't see why we'd have to pay you anything." Darin hated to be shrewd, but he also didn't want to part with even a little of the commission from this job.
