Zack sighed heavily at his reflection in the mirror. This wasn't going to be easy; the only people he ever really opened up to were Zira and Twilight. And right now, talking to neither of them would help. Twilight already knew what his problem was, though Zack hadn't brought it up again since he'd confessed to the prince that he was in love with his best friend. It wasn't Twi's problem to fix. And he obviously couldn't just blurt it out to Zira, not with Zira courting Kleio.
He still wasn't sure his decision was the best one, but he had to do something. He could still perform to a crowd as well as ever--that was practically automatic--but in private all he seemed able to think about was Zira and how he could possibly fix this so that all three of them could be happy.
But how in the hell did you start a conversation that was essentially "You know the man you're in love with? I love him, too. Can we try to share? Or better yet, do you think I'm the type of person you could love in addition to someone else?"
"I have got to be the biggest idiot the Forces ever put on the face of Naruta," Zack muttered as he bound his hair back with a strip of leather and dusted his wings with iridescent gold powder. He didn't usually take such pains with his appearance unless he was going out or to a formal event, but the more time he spent, the longer he got to delay.
When there wasn't a single thing more he could do, Zack sighed again and put his collar around his neck. He needed the extra confidence the memory of his Lady gave him.
Zack took a last glance at his reflection and smiled a bit weakly at himself. It was too bad he wasn't going out to meet women tonight; he'd definitely do well. He hoped he'd end up doing half that well in his current endeavor. "Love help me," he muttered, exiting his own room and heading down to Kleio's. After a moment of hesitation, Zack knocked at the other man's door, his right hand tugging at his feathers.
