Locket glanced at Lya and added, "And I'd like a chance to speak with you privately on some matters."

Lya raised her brow but nodded. "Of course. Well, I'm sure we'll be able to keep you both busy enough. In the meanwhile, would you rather tour the mansion or see your quarters? And of course you're both welcome to seek us out to talk about anything, whenever you wish. Oh! And one more point of interest--we hold audiences every other day, if you wish to sit in on them with us."

Nagi sighed inwardly. He wasn't fond of frequent audiences, even as a concept. As Schuldig had observed, attendees seemed to take it more seriously when it was only a few times a month. He nodded to Lya. "Perhaps not every audience," he replied. "Khelek holds court only once per week."

He looked at Locket. "Did you want to go to our rooms first or see the mansion?"

Locket looked unsure. She'd not slept well the night before and had run around doing last minute things the morning. Ordinarily, she'd be fine still, but, well... A nap was sounding appealing. "Our rooms." She could always go wandering on her own or privately with Lya.

Lya looked at Nagi thoughtfully. "Those days must be busy," she said as she rose. "Considering the amount of people Caelium holds, we find it necessary to have ours more frequently than that. There's the petitioners from Maelstrom, of course, but also Talen'sul. I can only imagine how much Lord and Lady Calder have to do..."

"Can I show them to their rooms?" Luminous asked.

"If you like," Lya told her daughter. Luminous grinned and darted out of the room with eager speed. Lya gestured to the empty air. "I knew she'd do that. Well, this way." She walked off at a calmer pace than her daughter.
