Once back in Fira, Thelon removed his hands from both women. "I will put this short and simple for now," Thelon told them both. He'd brought them back to Artica's hut. "After Damien died, Tres and Zap pressured and convinced Tavin to put an emotional block on Tres so she wouldn't have to deal with all the pain of Damien's passing at once. It was supposed to fade over time; plausible, of course. Mikasi's done it before. But it didn't. Tres, possibly unintentionally, strengthened it instead. Now things are breaking from the stress of it. Zap told Tavin he would tell me and he didn't. Now I get to go try and fix it." At that conclusion, he touched his sign and did the draining attempt of trying to find Tres by mental contact alone, brushing his own mind against all the minds around him in ever-widening circles. He chanted quietly as he did.

Tres wasn't in the clan, but she wasn't far away either. She was on the far side of the water hole. When Thelon touched her mind though, it was alarming. As far as her surface thoughts were, there was almost nothing there.

A flash of fear jolted through Thelon. Was she drowning? Without a word more, he teleported to the location he felt her mind.

Tres wasn't drowning. She was just sitting by the water, staring at it... somewhat. She didn't really seem to be staring at anything. She didn't even react to Thelon's arrival, just remained sitting on the hot sand with her knees drawn up against her chest.

Judging by the horrible looking sunburn she'd aquired, she'd been out here awhile.

Thelon sighed, wishing he'd worn a cloak; as it was, he didn't have anything to cover her with so he knelt down next to Tres. "Tres," he called out, not really expecting her to stir. She seemed catatonic. He pressed his mind against his, the mental equivalent of a light push on the shoulder. ~Tres.~

Tres' mind was nearly overwhelmed by an agonising mixture of grief, rage, fear, pain, frustration, loneliness, self loathing and guilt. There was a tiny, brief spark of curiousity in responce to Thelon's mental nudge, but it was quickly drowned out by the storm of negative emotions.

The already strained mental barrier had clearly reached it's breaking point and crumbled. All the emotions Tres had been denying herself rather then coping with and moving on from could no longer be denied.

Thelon let out his breath in a harsh sigh. He'd hoped he'd been able to salvage it. He agreed that things should be handled carefully and over time. That this current state was dangerous and unhealthy was really an understatement. Thelon took her hand in his own and considered what to do.

~You and I are going for a trip~ he murmured to her quietly. He turned his thoughts to Gemma and Artica next. ~I need to take Tres to Mikasi. Please look after the children for me; I'm not sure I'll have the strength left to return from them.~ He was already feeling drained from so much teleporting with other people. Brushing his sign and pulling on his reserves, Thelon teleported with Tres straight to Mikasi's home, hoping the man wasn't asleep or in some other state of repose.
