Spring Year 1007
1. The Thieves Guild were met with the horrific sight of one of their dead brothers. A fellow thief was found dead on their doorstep, brutally murdered and his corpse left as a warning to others. His body covered in frost, a note was pinned to him: "The guards of the Crystalands do not care to be toyed with." Grieving and enraged, the Thieves react swiftly and head for Khelek to take their revenge.
2. Meanwhile, in Ronduin, the guards are experiencing quite a similar situation. One of their own was found murdered in her own office. Evidence suggested that she had died fighting, for in her hand was a fistful of bloody feathers. The guards, unsure what to make of the evidence, decide to split the investigation into three parts. One small group will head to Talen'sul in order to work with the guards there in case the culprit had been a Wind of their kind. Another group headed to Ilyamen for the same purpose, and the rest of the guards remained home - vigilant and searching.
Summer Year 1007
3. Talen'sul guards have a similar problem on their hand. One of their kind was left murdered just inside the guardhouse door. His body bristled with injuries and many, many knives all stuck within him. A mocking note had been left with this body as well, reading "The Talen'sul guards are as laughable as the ones here at home." Deducing that it was a reference to the Ilyamen guards, the Talen'sul guards concluded that whomever had set up the murder wished to make it seem that the Ilyamen Thieves were to blame. At this point the Ronduin guards arrive and the two groups confer. The Talen'sul guards are skeptical, wary. They believe that there might be a bigger culprit - one that's pitching the Thieves and the Guards against one another. But with nothing else to go on, all they can do is stay alert and try to find out more.
Autumn Year 1007
4. The thieves have unleashed their fiery in full force - heading to Khelek as a collective, a wholesale slaughter took place where the Khelek guards were butchered in the night. This has prompted guards all over the world to look about more sharply and with definite fear. In Ilyamen, a handful of guards in the night took all the thieves in the cells and hung them.
5. The thieves responded by perpetuating a whisper campaign in Ilyamen against the guards, using the peasantry. The guards, in turn, have been using their influence with the aristocratic society to oppress the peasants. Nobles petitioning the mercenaries, however, have found that they have all been bought up by someone and sent packing out of Ilyamen. Tension continues to rise...
6. The Mercenaries, easily able to swing the situation in Ilyamen, all declined to become involved after the Thieves Guild bought their services - the service being to simply do nothing. With new administration rising up in Ilyamen, a woman by the name of Aueril, came a startling change. Aueril has assuaged the fears and doubts of the noble class, paying from the city coffers to buy temporary body guards for each of the influential houses. Meanwhile, the Guards have been publicly disbanded and a call put out for new individuals, stating that the infamous Guard system will now be revamped with competent and professional guards. The tension in Ilyamen has diffused, averting a near civil war.
7. A mysterious invitation to Echo was issued by an unknown individual claiming to have the one behind all the pain and suffering the guild wars have caused. Heading to Morilanta, Echo and her escort are confronted by Rajani who reveals that the master behind the situation was the Anarlinan noble Raist Lancer. Promising Echo her guilds' revenge in exchange for the service of the thieves for two years, Rajani hands over her loyal sycophant to be killed. Once Echo's lust for vengeance had been slated, Rajani had a messenger take the decapitated head of Raist to the various Guard halls, informing the guards that the threat has been taken care of in typical Morilantan fashion.
8. The source of Raist's information was revealed to be none other than the former Thief Lord, Daniel. Rajani struck a second deal with Daniel - take on the mantle of Black Swan, working for her and Nissar exclusively, and he would eventually gain his revenge on Echo and the Thieves. Daniel agreed and the transference was made.
