Faolan smothered the remains of his tiny fire with his massive paws. He hastily gulped down the rest of his breakfast and tied his leather sack to his waist.

It was a glorious morning, rays of sunlight splashed the plains in liquid gold.
Birds ruffled their feathers in a shower of morning dew and joined the dawn chorus. But the large wolf had no time to appreciate this wonderful scene, he had a plan he had to put into action. He had to find Tarja and time was of the essence.

With a weary sigh and stretch, he was trotting off again.

Not far away, another Beast type, of the Beleg Clan, sensed the approach of Faolan.

This particular Beast type was of the rarer insectoid variety, particularly spiders. He wasn't exactly the brightest Beast type and had thusfar survived mostly on luck and preying on the weak. But it'd been almost a week since his last meal and he was getting desperate. Cautiously, he started to trail after Faolan.

Faolan didn't notice the spider-beast, he just focused on keeping the pace as he rehearsed what he would say to Tarja.

He was following a dusty trail he hasn't used in a long, long time, but it was almost like his feet were carrying him there on their own. The beast elemental knew this place well.

[Kender Bard]

The arachnoid was sulky; he didn't have time or resources dedicated to laying a trap which is what he instinctually wanted to do. But instincts also said that he needs to eat soon or be eaten. Feeling regret heavy in his heart, he suddenly sprints forward and tries to tackle Faolan from behind.

[Toyoll]

Faolan whipped around to see this beast type rushing at him. The old wolf stood at his full height, hackles raising, a feral snarl on his lips. His large canines flashed in the morning light and growled viciously. He made a point to show off his many beast signs.

Faolan knew that show was worthless in this clan, you fought or you fled. So, naturally, he fought...

The wolf rushed toward the arachnid in a truly fearsome display of force.

[Kender Bard]

The arachnoid gave a high pitched shriek of terror. He had made a huge miscalculation and at this point, he'd rather starve to death than be torn limb from limb. The Beast type swiftly turned on his heel, and ran as fast as he could the other direction.

[Toyoll]

Faolan only followed him for a short while before slowing. He scowled and gruffed at the spider before resuming his journey.

He sighed deeply, the first of many I fear.... he thought. He was going to have to keep his wits about him from now on. This wasn't Seere, beast types would more than gladly rip him apart. The wolf snorted and laughed, Not that they'd try too....if they wished to die old that is.

After a long time, Faolan could spy the smoke rising from Beleg, though they were still far off.
