Quest for Faolan|Clan Seere, Beastlands

Ryu and the man appear in the middle of the clan. Immediately people looked at them, and whisper. Some moving away, some moving closer. He lets go of the man, "Your safe now. I think." He walks over to a man, "Do you know where I may find Faolan?"

[Kender Bard]

The squirrel-man is pratically on his knees with relief.

"Why do you want to know?" the man asks suspiciously. Other clan members seem to go on the defensive.

Ryu looked at the man, and kept his face clear of emotions. He looked around, trying to see if he could spot anyone that seemed important. Not spotting anyone, he looked back to the man. "I do not mean to be rude, but that's between me and him."

[Kender Bard]

The man - snake affinity - narrows his already slitted eyes. "Yeah, well, not to be rude, but what concerns Faolan concerns his clan."

Ryu kept his gaze on the man, "Sorry, I'm not familiar with your people's customs. I want to talk to Faolan about the clears. About a war with the clears."

[Kender Bard]

It almost sounds as though everyone draws their breath in at once. The man nods and turns to a young boy, probably no older than twelve. Making a few odd noises with his teeth and tongue, the boy runs off.
"We do not mean to seem callous," the man says in way of an apology. "We're very protective of our leader. He's the primary thing that stands between us and the crueler clans."

Ryu nodded in agreement. "This war started when the clears took our Mind Master. Now we fear that anyone, and everyone is in danger."

[Kender Bard]

On that note, a great and hulking Beast approaches, looking nothing short of a bipedal wolf full of muscle and might. Despite this, there's a sharp clarity and wisdom and his eyes. His deep voice rumbles from the depths of his chest, "Welcome, traveler. You wished to speak with me?"

Ryu gave a bow, then looked around. His gaze then rested on Faolan, "Yes, about very important matters. I'm sure you've herd of the resent war with the clears. A war that cost many their lives. The Minds have talked about it, and we feel that we must attack the clears. We fear that the Clear will be going after everyone now. They won't stop until they rule this word. We want to know if you'll join us in this war? Help fight the clears before we die by them, or bow to them."

[Kender Bard]

Faolan shifts uncomfortably on the subject. "I have long been an advocator of peace. That's why I live and rule from Clan Seere... However.. I do speak on behalf of almost all the Beastlands. I will refer you to my general of Clan Poldora, who would be willing to help you. Beleg would as well, but I fear they cannot be controlled. Anyway, you will want to seek out a man named Lam. He is a boar-affinity and hard to miss." Faolan beckons Ryu closer. "They live to the west, but I will have to put a marking on you so that you're free from attack."

Ryu nodded to Faolan, "Thank you for your time. I will speak to Lam. Though I thought Clam Poldora didn't attack other elementals?"

[Kender Bard]

Faolan shakes his head. "They don't go out of their way to. But they're quick to think of an excuse to.. viciously defend their borders, shall we say. Come here, I will place my mark upon you. I promise it won't hurt."

[thewiccan]

Ryu raised a brow, but smiled anyway. He thought that the mark would be some sort of marking by a powder. "Thank you Faolan."

[Kender Bard]

Faolan steps closer and lifts one of his paws up near Ryu's face, the wickedly sharp claws close to his skin. Carefully, he digs his nail into his own paw until a bright red bead of blood appears, which he quickly smears over one finger. Before it has a chance to dry, he makes a small marking, a crescent shape, on the side of Ryu's cheek. Lowering his paw, Faolan nods approvingly. "There. Continue to be wary, but that mark should keep you relatively safe. I wish you luck in the struggle we all are facing now. The Minds are not the only ones who have wisely decided to take the initiative and start forming alliances."

Ryu clapped a hand to Faolon's shoulder, "Thank you. Take care." He touches his Mind sign and starts chanting in a voice, a few seconds after he is gone.
