Kender pelted me with questions and I answered as best I could. (nodnod) She makes me think fast. ^n_n^
Kender Bard: Mmkay. First question! What is the government of Naurorod like?
Shihen Aitsu: Formally among the four Clans, people who specialize in trade, defense, planning for the future and hunting are elected by unanimous or majority vote to become the Elders. They try to be as democratic as possible, but if the Elders see no other way to solve a situation, what they say goes.
Kender Bard: What do you know about how the Honored Leader works?
Shihen Aitsu: Nothin'.
Kender Bard: Okie, I'll explain that once I'm done snuggling Tas. ^_^' brb
Kender Bard: Silly cat. ^^
Anyway! okay!
Kender Bard: The Honored Leader is, of course, the Leader of all Fires. It's a bloodline tradition, typically patriarchal. However, if for some reason the bloodline runs out or if the people aren't content with the current Leader, a new one can be selected from anyone willing to participate. Those willing to participate come together in a great gathering of the clans and explain their list of great and honorable deeds. The top five most 'honorable' fire kin join in a challenge that usually involves something risky and Naurorod (a monster hunt or searching for an item)
Kender Bard: The first to return victorious is the new Honored Leader. The Honored Leader is like an Elder for all the clans. He has as much authority as a head Elder in any one clan.
Kender Bard: What are some citizen rankings (if any) that can be found in Naurorod?
Shihen Aitsu: I don't know.
Kender Bard: Well, tell me what you think. Make something up
Shihen Aitsu: Merchant, hunter.... um....
Shihen Aitsu: Damn.
Kender Bard: Welllll *hrm* what kinds of jobs do people have in hunter-gatherer societies?
Kender Bard: Assuming some of them have enough time to do more than gather food (I realize that's a bit of a falsehood.. since hunter-gatherers didn't have time for anything but getting food to survive. ^_^')
Kender Bard: Sooo native american-ish
Also, if anyone wants to know about the herbs that Alexi takes, they're stoneseed root, jack-in-the-pulpit root (which also kinda tastes like a potato), some thistle and maybe a little tansy for good measure.
