Till Death Do We Part (Christian & Thessa)

[Kender Bard]

Thessa followed after Christian but held her tongue. It wasn't until they had the slightest illusion of privacy that she finally spoke up. "I hope you know just how terribly proud I am of you Christian." She smiled at him with a rare look of tenderness and affection. "You always manage to do that. Even in life you were always surprising me by showing how capable and how brave you were."

[Devon]

Christian took hold of Thessa's hand tenderly. "Thank you," he said. "You've always given me a reason to show you I could be brave and capable," he replied smiling back. "Just tell me, is flying with wings difficult?"

[Kender Bard]

"It takes some getting used to," Thessa admitted with a wider grin. "But you have all the time in the world to learn. And once you do, it's actually quite fun to fly about. And I'll show you all around Taed's realm of course. And my own little corner of it, drab though it is. I think it'll become considerably more pleasant with you there to share it with me."

[Devon]

"Of course it will," Christian replied. "What can I expect there in our lord's realm?" he asked. "I'm not afraid of what is to come when the battle starts I just want to know what comes after my role is done."

[Kender Bard]

"Every Taedean that ever was," Thessa said. "And quite a few who found their faith only after life. Often times Taed and Etaf will take on the souls of those who do not belong to anyone until they're ready to make their choice, presuming they're worthy of being kept for that long. Some unfortunate bastards wind up elsewhere... Well, you'll see a few on the battlefield tomorrow, no doubt."

She cleared her throat. "Everyone gets their own little piece of heaven to do with what they will. And you can travel between these easily enough. Really, one could walk for decades and never run out of things to look at. And there's no pain, no fatigue, no hunger or thirst. But you can indulge in any luxuries you wish. The heavens are very malleable. You've seen what the angels can do to serve the Chosen here--we can all do that in the heavens."

[Devon]

"That sounds wonderful," Christian replied wistfully. "One more thing to look forward to, aside from spending my afterlife with the woman I love," he said to her.

[Kender Bard]

Thessa smiled softly at him again, leaning in to kiss him, though she stopped short.

Do you want me to leave? Taed whispered to her. He could speak easily with his angels with no need of overtaking Christian to do it. That much was a blessing. I'm indifferent to what you do. I'm just thinking deeply while riding about in him.

Thessa considered it for a moment and then shrugged. Taed wasn't as physically affectionate with his followers as Soahc, Efil, or even Thuoth was. She took a bit of wicked delight in kissing Christian.
