Looking for clues with family|Raynham | Reave

[Devon]

Darin arrived in Reave with his wife and twin boys. The time spent before they left from Sensatia to go to Reave was spent making sure the boys were sharp. Darin didn't expect them to take down a man his size on their own, but they'd be able to escape and let daddy take care of the rest.

"all right, we'll find some of those mystics and see what information we can get off of the things that Master Libre gave us."

[Kender Bard]

Seth was looking around with a grin. "And then what?"

"Then we take an inn room for the night and then go home," Pandora said.

Seth sighed. "That's boring! I want to explore!"

[Devon]

Sawyer agreed with his twin easily. "Yeah it is, mama can't we stay and explore for the day if we finish early," he asked?

Darin sighed and ruffled the twin's hair. "We'll think about it, but only if you two stay out of trouble and listen to what we say."

[Kender Bard]

"What your father said," Pandora agreed. "You're here to work, my sons. It's like any other lesson; so pay sharp attention."

"Yes mama," Seth mumbled.

"Where do we start?" Pandora asked Darin. "Did you get the name of any particular mystics, or shall we just ask around?"

[Devon]

"We're going to have to ask around," he answered. "There weren't any world renown mystics to consult , so we'll be hoofing it until we find one."

Sawyer kept close to his brother and quiet for once, it was the first time he really had a chance to go out with his parent's when they were working in a different land.

[Kender Bard]

Pandora's admonishment had quieted Seth down as well, but he was grinning widely as he kept close to them. Pandora decided the best method would be to find someone chatty and simply ask. She spotted some women holding baskets of laundry talking to one another and sidled up to them. "Hello ladies," she greeted. The woman stopped chatting and looked at Pandora was some surprise. "I don't suppose you could tell me where I might be able to find a mystic in these parts...?"

One of the women gestured towards the residential area. "If you ask around in there for where the mystic Marianna is, they'll point you to her house. She practices from home."

[Devon]

Sawyer used a trick he and his brother had practiced often in the market place back home. Acting sweet to older women when they were anything but. "Thank you ma'am," he said smiling politely.

Darin smirked and pat his son on the shoulder. "Let's go you," he said. "Thanks again for the help," Darin told the woman, with that done he and his family headed off to visit the mystic Marianna.

It took a little more poking around, but the family located the mystic's home. Her home was covered in paintings and baubles to advertise her trade. Pandora wasn't sure if they should knock or not. She opted to. A few moments later, a woman with frizzy black hair opened the door. Adjusting her spectacles, she looked at the group in surprise. "Oh my, I wasn't expecting such exotic visitors."

[Devon]

"Sorry to barge in like this," Darin said. "But we were wondering if you could help us with something?" he asked

Sawyer peered at the lady in amusement, he liked the random people he'd meet outside of Sensatia already.

[Kender Bard]

Seth was trying to enter the house already. Pandora reached out and grabbed hold of his arm with a hiss of annoyance at his rudeness.

"I suspect you're here for my mystic abilities?" she asked. She opened the door wider and invited them in. "Please, come in and be seated."

The front half of the house, where visitors could see, was just as decorated as the outside. It was all a bit gaudy and tacky but Seth was thrilled by it. "Wow!" he exclaimed in glee. "Look at all the stuff!" He nudged his twin and pointed. "Look a skull!" Indeed, there was one on a shelf with a half melted candle on top of it.

[Devon]

Sawyer looked at the skull wide-eyed, he desperately wanted to touch it, but knew his mother would disagree. "Mama, how come we don't have skulls in our house?" he asked

Darin shook his head and took a seat. "Sorry about our boys..they act like they don't get out much. Anyway we brought a few items and we were wondering if you could take a look at them and find out what the people they belonged to were doing."

[Kender Bard]

"I will endeavor to do my best," the mystic agreed. "I hope you are aware that the visions are not always forthcoming. The Forces are either very busy or very fickle and often choose not to reveal anything at all."

"Do we still have to pay you if we do not get anything for it?" Pandora asked with a peer.

The mystic smiled nervously. "I do charge a minimal fee for the components I use. I use several, however. What I select has to do with the nature of the vision. If you could give me a little more information to go off of... Such as who these things belonged to?"

"A high ranking man," Pandora replied. "A nobleman."

The mystic nodded. "My preferred channeling substance, then, would be ground quartz. It'll cost a copper up front. Then if I receive a vision, it will be three copper."

Not much, Pandora thought. But she wouldn't offer a bit more. If they flashed, say, a silver, or a bagful of coppers, the woman might start making things up just for the payment. Maybe afterwards, if she proved very helpful.

[Devon]

Darin reached into his coin purse and took out a copper. "Well then let's see what you have for us," he said to her as he handed it over.

[Kender Bard]

Pandora gestured to her sons to pay attention. Not that it was needed. Seth was staring wide-eyed with interest already.

Marianna rose and selected a soft leather pouch from a nearby shelf. Reaching in, she pinched out ground quarts and began to create a pattern on a small tabletop with a chunk of crystal as the centerpiece. Once that was done, she closed her eyes and began to murmur softly, as if in prayer, while handling the objects.

After a short while, the woman gasped and dropped the items as if they were on fire. She was pale and trembling. "Forces, you made me look into a murder!"

Pandora was impressed. She hadn't expected such dramatic results.

[Devon]

"Yeah that happens sometimes," Darin said with a small shrug. Reaching into his purse he took out the three coins she required when she was done, plus something extra which he kept hidden in his hand. "Now please...what did you see before he was murdered?" he asked
