Naruta to the Rescue!!|Celentia, Firegem Isles

"Land ho!" came the cry from the several ships that made their way steadily towards the Celentian ports up ahead. Firegem native ships began to hastily get out of the way (especially of the intimidating, massive icebreaker ships from Khelek.) The Ronduin ships, smaller but speedier, pulled ahead of their northern counterparts to pull into the docks. These held primarily medicines and healers with a handful of men from Anarlina and Khelek aboard.

The militaristic men were the first to disembark and from the look of shock on the faces of the men, they hadn't expected Celentia to be so overrun. There were people everywhere and tents had sprouted up all over the place like mushrooms.

Not to mention the stench was overpowering. Celentian soldiers worked to clear a path for their Narutan allies. It was difficult, and involved a great deal of shoving people until a rough area had opened up that was quickly filled with Narutan soldiers.

A few stayed on the ships, coordinating efforts with each other and the other ships.

"Healers," one of the soldiers barked into a ship. "Do you folks need open air or can we bring the worst cases into the ship to be seen to? It's crowded out here."

Meanwhile, topside, Erik of the Anarlinan Beloved Knights was trying to get some order around himself. "First regiment," he called at the top of his voice. "To me!"

((First regiment can include any soldiers from Anarlina or Khelek.))

A young man leaning against the railing nearby turns to the soldier shouting for healers. "If you start bringing them on right away everyone with a scrape or a bruise might rush to join them. We won't be able to work on the ships if they get just as crowded as it is down there. Best we go out and help the worst anyway, if anyone's hurt badly moving them can be the worst thing to do."

He lifts himself up a bit on the railing for a better look, peering at the shore and scowling as people are shoved out of the way for the militia. Forces but there were a lot of them, he shudders to think of the sheer force that could have driven this many people out of their homes. While he isn't eager to join the press of bodies down on the shore though, he is eager to see if anyone is badly hurt, "Can we start heading down now, or will we be in the way of the soldiers?"

Khael was new at this, and obviously had no idea what he was doing, so as he took in the sights of all the people crowded around the isle, he allowed the other boy to do the talking. He'd probably just fall over himself trying to do anything beyond healing- this was so far beyond his comprehension. He just followed with his eyes as the people milled about below, their eyes watching back. Such an interesting meeting.

He too was eager to get started, but wasn't sure where he was needed. He would wait until he was told what he could best do to help out. He looked to the other healer for leadership.

"You and a couple others can go down now," the soldier agreed with a nod towards the opening space. "Try to stay close to the militia. If you need to go out into the crowd, then I want you escorted by a soldier when you do."

"Are the people hostile?" a young healer asked nervously, tugging on the end of her hair lightly.

"No," the soldier assured her. "There's just a lot of them and desperate people do malicious things without meaning to. I don't want to see our people trampled or overrun. Head on down there, healers."

Ivan nods to the soldier and glances to a few of the other healers, including Khael and the young woman. He didn't intend to put himself in a commanding position, he just happened to be the closest. "Shall we?"

He adjusts his satchel with his supplies and heads down to the shore, a grim look on his face.

Khael nodded at Ivan, and grabbed his own small satchel. He grimaced as he followed Ivan off the boat, looking around at all the people. They were like a single stone flung into the waters of a giant river- how could one small stone change the river's course? He had to just hope that he could do what he could.

The woman plucked her spectacles from a pocket and slipped them on, grabbing her own medical case.

Soon several healers were in a widening circle of free space, surrounded by Anarlinan and Crystalander men keeping the public at bay with Erik leading this particular group. "While we speak with the Lord General about matters here, you folks begin your work," Erik told the healers. "Once we've done what we can for the islanders, we'll begin moving them on to the ships in as orderly a fashion as we can."

"I understand, sir," the female healer, Lemia, answered. Erik nodded and left the protective circle. Adjusting her glasses, she glanced at Ivan. "I don't think they want us wading out there just yet so we can't go to any bedridden cases until things are a little more calmed down. That being said, who's the next highest priority?"

Ivan looks to his fellow healers, not exactly eager to fight his way through the crowd anyway, "The worst cases that can make it here, I guess. I'm not sure how to get the word out without being rushed though, do you two have any ideas?"

Khael thought about their predicament. If they moved out into the crowd, they could be lost in the hectic environment. If they didn't, people could be lost to horrid wounds. He didn't have many ideas. "Do we know where the injured are? Are they all in one place or spread out among the people?" If they were in one place, the job became simple- just go there and do it. They couldn't do that at the moment, but for the time being, he thought... "We can pass out what supplies we have to healers here. They can administer to their wounded who are better off than the bedridden cases. We'll have to wait, and find where our healing can be most useful. That's what I think."

[Kender Bard]

"That brings up a good point," Lemia remarked. "Who ARE the healers on this island? We need to talk to them and get a better grasp on the situation."

She walked over to one of the soldiers and tapped him on the shoulder. "Could you bring some sort of head healer from this island here to us?"

The soldier saluted and spread the question down the line to another Knight who went in search of just such a person. Some time later, he returned with a bent old man who hobbled along with a cane in one hand. Despite his age, he appeared to have a thick head of black hair until a closer inspection revealed them to be feathers. He had blue circles around his pure black eyes as well.

"I am Chikelu," he said in a slightly quavery voice. "Who called for me?"

"We did, sir," Ivan bobs his head in a bit of a bow, not sure what the customs here are and not wanting to be rude. He gestures to the two others with him, "We're healers and we want to help, but we don't know what the situation here is. We were hoping you could help direct us. There are more healers on the boats too," he adds.

Following Ivan's lead, Khael also bows a small bit, hoping not to offend the fellow healer. He waited for the man's answer. He looked very old. What he must have lived through, only to have this befall him in the winter of his life. Such a sad thing.

[Kender Bard]

"Is there a location you're keeping your wounded?" Lemia added.

"The worst," the healer agreed. "We've a building for them. How many healers are with you on all the boats?"

"About fifteen," Lemia said, having taken a rough guess.

"Bit much for our little infirmary," Chikelu replied. "Five'll do. You three and tell two others to come with you." He waited until Lemia went to fetch two more healers off the ship to join them. "All right, this way. I hope you folks aren't squeamish. The worst cases are folks who ran afoul of the creatures on the island. I don't blame them for camping out there, but it's damned stupid too."

Ivan follows the man with the other healers, unsettled by the mass of people. He holds on to his satchel and looks around with wide eyes, they can't fit this many people onto the ships, can they?

Ganda thought similarly to Ivan. So many people! How could they help them all? It was his job to try and find out how. He had no idea how he could though... he'd put his all into it. He followed along, waiting for something tangible to devote himself to.
