Frowning in thought, Flame walked down the hall to her father's study with Secret. Peaking inside, she knocked lightly on the door frame and asked, "Daddy? Are you busy?"

Secret, naturally, didn't wait for an invitation and simply walked in, leaping onto the desk and making herself comfortable. ~Flame had a vision again,~ she told Thelon.

"I think I know where Ann is. Sorta," Flame added, sounding a little uncertain.

Thelon was, for once, not busy. He'd been rolling a small wooden ball around the top of his desk and letting his mind wander. He sat up straighter at this announcement. "You do?" Thelon asked. "Where?"

Flame grimaced slightly. "I'm... not sure exactly. I sorta recognised some of what I Saw, but I don't really remember where I saw them. Can I show you what I saw, daddy? You might remember. I never go anywhere without you and mummy after all."

There was a tiny note of irritation in her voice at that last bit. Flame was still slightly jealous of Libre's visit to Khelek.

"Very well," Thelon agreed. His concern over the events pushed Flame's annoyance out of his mind. He had more important things to worry about. "Show me what you Saw and we'll see if we can't remember together."

Flame nodded and touched her sign, chanting under her breath for a moment before projecting her vision into her father's mind.

Once again, Flame was seeing out of the eyes of the small girl. The child was walking though a busy marketplace, dragging her feet a little on the paved path and glancing around idly. She wasn't sure if she liked this new home any better then the last, but at least the children were nicer.

And it was pretty, the little girl thought. Her gaze lingered on Anarlina's temple for a long moment. There was nothing like THAT at home. Even so, she still missed her old home a lot. But talking about it made her mummy and new daddy sad, so she knew she shouldn't say anything.

Besides, it felt like it had been a really, really long time. So maybe the old home wasn't home any more?

"Alyssa!" Ann called to her daughter, startling the little girl into looking back at her mother. "Come on Aly, keep up. If you stop to daydream, we might lose you in this crowd." Through Alyssa's eyes it was possible to see Ann looked reasonably healthy, though perhaps a little underweight. A new looking silver ring gleamed on her ring finger.

"She's probably tired," the man from Flame's first vision remarked. "It's been a long day. Do you want to be carried, Aly?"

"Okay daddy," Alyssa replied softly as the vision faded into blackness and ended.

"I've seen that temple somewhere, haven't I daddy?" Flame murmured

"Yes," Thelon answered quickly. He recognized the place immediately. "From Queen Dusk and King Twilight's wedding I suspect. That's Anarlina. Let me tell everyone else and then we'll go and try to find them." He put a gentle emphasis on the we. With Flame's uncanny bond with Alyssa through visions, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have her help.

Thelon leaned forward on his desk so he could touch both of his signs and work up a little bit of power. He reached out for Shadow as well as for Tres and Artica, drawing the three into a mental conversation. ~Ann is in New Anarlina. Flame had another vision and I recognized the temple immediately. Ann looks well; a little weight lost but otherwise fit. And I believe...~ He sounded puzzled. ~That she's married a young man now whom I do not recognize.~

What?! The thought came from both Shadow and Tres at once, each sounding as shocked and puzzled as the other, though there was an odd note to Shadow's tone - almost as though he'd just woken up, despite it being nearly midday.

Are you sure? Tres added.

It does seem odd, but... If Ann has lost her memory, well, being alone, with a small child, and in a place she doesn't know would no doubt be frightening, Artica remarked. Perhaps this young man has been looking after her, and the two of them bonded. It's not that unlikely, really, if you consider the fact that right now this man may be the only person Ann 'knows'.

The question is, what do we do about it? Tres thought, her mental 'voice' dark with worry.

~I'm not sure~ Thelon admitted, frowning. ~This is getting complicated. If we had been aware of her absence and found her relatively swiftly, then it would have been a simple matter of trying to restore her memories. But now she has a new... Life for herself. Not only will it be difficult to convince her to listen to us, strangers to her now, but what reason would she have to believe that she has this mysterious past life? She'll think we're raving lunatics or worse. In order to restore her memories, assuming just seeing, say, Shadow, doesn't do it, I'd need to bring her to Sensatia and have a Mind healer look at her. At this rate, we might have to take her kicking and screaming.~

If that's what we need to do, then we'll do it, Tres said firmly.

Shadow wasn't so sure. Thelon? he asked quietly. How did she seem? Was she happy?

She'll be happier at home, Tres shot back quickly.

Will she? Shadow asked. And when was the last time you saw that girl actually HAPPY, Wild Flame?

Now it was Tres' turn to go quiet. Then finally she replied, She deserves to at least know who she is, Shade. Then, if she decides to stay where she is... we'll deal with it. Agreed?

Agreed, Shadow sighed, sounding tired. Do what you need to Thelon.

~I'm still not sure what that is~ Thelon answered, exasperated. ~How are we going to get her to believe what we say is true?~

Through Alyssa, Artica replied. It's not likely they both lost their memory and Alyssa practically glues herself to Flame's side when they're both in Fira. If you take Flame with you, I'm sure Alyssa will be thrilled to see her. And between Alyssa's reaction and the fact Ann MUST be aware she can't remember her past, that might be enough to convince her to listen to you.

Her signs are an arguement in your favor too, Tres added.

~I'll try~ Thelon answered. ~And I'll keep you all appraised of the situation.~

Tearing himself away from the telepathic conversation, he rubbed his eyes and murmured, "I might need your help in more than just finding them, Flame dear. Ann has no memory of her past. Hopefully together we can convince her to listen to me when I try to explain things to her. Are you ready to go?"

Flame nodded, her expression serious and determined. "I'm ready," she said, reaching up to take her father's hand. "We'll fix this, Daddy," she added as Secret leapt off the desk and draped herself over Flame's shoulders.

~I'm coming too,~ the cat stated firmly.

Thelon gave a small nod and squeezed Flame's hand lightly before brushing his fingertips over his signs again and whispering softly before teleporting them all to Anarlina.
