Calan finished some business with a customer asking for an outfit to be made and waited until he was gone before locking the front door and setting up a simple alarm system to alert him if anyone tried to break in.

Once that was complete he went to the back of the shop where Fausta was and gave a small smirk at the absence of the one boy that until recently worked for him until the previous day. "You can put down the needle work now, we have something important to talk about now."

[Kender Bard]

Fausta was glad to do so--she'd long ago managed to develop the callouses against needle pricks that made her work easier, but she still loathed the chores anyway. She didn't throw them down in disgust though. There were a lot of little rules, not a few of which were about how to conduct herself around her master, that she'd also picked up alongside the callouses.

"Yes, master Calan?" she asked politely.

Calan sat down across from her, moving her current work to the side before speaking. "Congratulations child. Can his body be found?" Not that it would have really mattered that much if it was found, but learning to hide a body is a useful skill at times.

[Kender Bard]

Fausta gave a knowing smile but coquettishly remarked, "I'm not sure what you mean by the question, master. Whether or not his body is found is a matter for the guards to determine. Of course, depending on the nature of his untimely demise, they might find that difficult at best." She had to resist the urge to smirk.

Calan made a mental note to make sure that his bedroom had a better 'lock' on it just to be sure. "Good. I believe it's time you are finally given a real test." He said while producing two pieces of paper. "The white paper holds the name and position of the target, I want the body found but I do not want you to be found in proximity to the body. The yellow paper contains a symbol on it that I want you to leave near the body where it can be found."

[Kender Bard]

Fausta blinked and accepted the papers, looking them over. Her eyes brows raised to nearly her hairline when she saw the name written down there. "Nolwin... Wasn't that my mother's maiden name? Is this woman related to me?"

"She's your aunt. I trust that won't be a problem with you." Calan responded wryly and continued before she could audibly answer him. "In fact, her family finds her to be a nuisance and would be glad to see her dead so you would be doing them a considerable favor. The symbol.." He said while glancing at it. "..will be important in expanding our operations."

[Kender Bard]

"As you wish," Fausta said, folding the papers. She had no qualms with killing a family member. She only wished it was someone from her father's side of the family--she would have actually enjoyed that. "Anything else or may I go now?"

"As soon as you put today's work away you may go. Do not fail me." He says before rising and leaving to his room, leaving her to her own devices at this time.

Fausta glared at his back before getting up to finish her duties--she would not fail him. Failure was death. And she vowed he would die long before she did.

Some time later, after giving long and careful deliberation as to how to get close to her mark, Fausta changed into her rough and ragged 'street' clothing, the set she kept when she wanted all who looked upon her bent head and hunched shoulders to think of only another miserable peasant. Dressed thusly and clutching a parchment she'd scribed in her most flowing hand (the one that Callan had given her was tucked into a secret pocket, safely) she marched straight up to the front door of the Nolwin estate and knocked.

After a short moment the door opened to show a young servant was looking down at Fausta. "What business do you have with House Nolwin street rat?" He asked with a sneer and thinly veiled impatience.

[Kender Bard]

"Beggin' your pardon, miss, but I has a message for Lady Nolwin, um, the head of the house Lady," Fausta replied, very meekly. "It concerns me an' some promise of employment so my muh-master, um, he says to not leave until I's seen her read it meself."
