The primary form of currency in Naruta is the copper coin. While silver and gold coins do exist, they are extremely rare (being that these precious metals are generally used in goods rather than money, and are still hard to procur). Only the upper class are likely to have these denominations of cash - the rest of us use copper coins and copper bits. A copper bit is a piece of a copper coin, used for extremely cheap items. The term "Copper" and "Coin" are synonyms. Saying something is one copper or one coin is the same thing.
