Long Time No See Surprises

[Kender Bard]

Luna held on to Xavier's arm as her husband teleported her home. Smiling at him, she knocked on the front door and then fussed with her dress slightly. Though the sontief back home was lovely, she still favored the Talen'sul cut of her clothes. "They'll be so excited," she murmured to Xavier with a wide grin.

[Devon]

Xavier rested his hand on Luna's and smiled back to her. "Oh I'm sure they will be, I wonder what your dad is going to think after he here's about this."

Hearing the knock, Teardrop makes a dash for the door and opens it, giving her older sister a warm smile. She's grown a few inches, her last spurt of growth, and filled out a bit since Luna last saw her, making her a very pretty young woman. "Luna! Xavier! Good to see you! Come in." She takes a step away from the doorway to let the guests in and calls out, "Mum! Dad! They're here!"

"Hello Teardrop," Luna greeted the girl as she entered the house. "You're looking quite mature and lovely. How have you been? Where's your sister?"

"Luna!" Laura exclaimed as she went to hug her daughter, smiling. "Hello my dear. And Xavier, handsome as always." She gave her son-in-law a hug as well. "How has work been?"

[Devon]

"Work has been the same as always, tiring, but enjoyable," Xavier replied returning the hug. "Nice to see you again Laura and hello to you too Teardrop, Saph must have his hands full keeping the boys in Talen'sul in line."

Teardrop blushes and giggles at Xavier's comment even as she tells Luna, "Rain went to the market to get some fresh bread. She'll be home soon."

"And yes, I'm afraid I've had to make a very large club to beat away the boys from my doorstep," Saph laughes, walking into the room. He smiles warmly at his daughter and son-in-law. "It's good to see you both. Xavier, I hope you've been taking good care of my little princess?"

[Devon]

"Always Saph," Xavier replied to his father-in-law. "How have things been in Talen'sul? Not too busy I hope."

[Kender Bard]

"Things have been mercifully quiet these days," Laura replied with a smile as she ushered her children into another room. "How have things been in Sensatia?"

"Much the same," Luna replied as she took a seat. "Master Thelon's efforts to expand Sensatia's revenue and livelihood into agriculture has worked beautifully. We have some thriving farms now, and soon we'll be seeing the first harvests brought in. Everyone's very excited - there's even talk of a big celebration to commemorate it. Speaking of big celebrations, Xavier and I may be having one of our own soon." She looked absolutely smug as she said this.

Saph begins to smile, wondering if the idea that's forming in his mind could be correct. "Oh? A celebration? What for, dear? I can't imagine you two are going off to run a farm." He chuckles softly at the thought.

[Devon]

"Well we have thought of running a farm," Xavier said. "But that isn't it, I think it is best if Luna quit teasing and went ahead and told you why we came here," smiling, Xavier nudged his wife on.

[Kender Bard]

"All right," Luna conceded, grinning. She had enjoyed her teasing though. "The truth is..." She paused.

"Luna," Laura sighed, exasperated but smiling.

"We're going to have a baby."

Saph grins and Teardrop gives a little squeal of delight. "Oh that's wonderful!" she tells her older sister, hugging Luna gently. "You must be so happy. Are you hoping for a girl or a boy? Maybe it'll be another set of tw-"

Saph calmly covers his youngest daughter's mouth to silence the excited chatter. "That's wonderful you two. Congratulations," he says, grinning at the pair. "I'm delighted for you both." Releasing Teardrop, Saph hugs Luna. "Now just don't make my mistake and let Flash baby-sit. He'll feed the little one on sugar and give it back. Let me feed the little darling sugar instead."

Luna giggled as she returned the hugs; Laura had given a squeal quite similar to Teardrop's and seemed to have pulled Luna into a vice of a hug. "Oh you must let me be there for you when the time comes!"

"You have a long wait, mother," Luna replied wryly. "Hmm, girl or boy, it doesn't matter to me. I suppose a boy. A girl would just take after me and that would be a shame."

"I see nothing shameful about that," Saph chuckles. "You were the good child who stayed out of trouble... most of the time." He grins and adds teasingly, "You were just a moody teenager before your time. It was good practice for raising your sisters."

"Hey, I'm not moody," Teardrop protests.

"But I am." Raindrop steps into the room, having just gotten home. She smiles slightly at her family and asks, "What have I missed?" Like Teardrop, Rain's grown into a pretty young woman, but she lacks Teardrop's utter delight in life. There's a quiet, resigned solumness about Raindrop that doesn't quite suit her, making Teardrop the prettier seeming of the pair.

[Devon]

Xavier could do nothing but smile. Looking to Raindrop he smiled and calmly said, "Even though you twins are quite different, Saph still must have his hands full. To fill you in Raindrop, Luna and I are having a baby...and if it is a boy I intend to name him Cloud."
