First steps on the long road

For Sharna, it has been a long and annoying trip – and she knew that her true journey was only just beginning.

She'd left her trabal homeland, heading towards the Linnod lands. Her goals were simple; to see what was out there and what she could make of it. She knew that it was a big world, and that it was full of opportunities; all she had to do was find them.

And she knew she wasn't going to find them in the backwards hell-hole that her home had been. Just because she was a woman, just because all the men were afraid of her because she was so big... they'd held her back, tried to stop her from being what her heart told her she wanted to be. So she'd left them, striking out on her own path.

And nothing was going to stop her.

She stepped into the town, a confident swagger in her walk, looking to see what opportunities life would present her.

((Actually, Fira is a nomadic clan like all the others. Only Linnod is the settled, structured 'town'. Did you still want to start in Fira?))

((No no you're not dumb, it's easy to be confused.))

Two sentries stood around the gates; they were currently jesting with one another, laughing by the time the woman approached.

One stood to attention and smiled at her in a welcoming manner. "Welcome to Linnod, traveler," he greeted, eyes sweeping over her to for signs of a weapon.

Sharna glanced back at the large and obvious sword she was carrying. "Why thanks." She casually remarked, trying to read the guard and the local rules - and if they allowed people to wander aorund carrying weapons openly.

"So how are things here?" She added. "Huge, bustling town like this must keep you fellows busy"

[Kender Bard]

"Well the comings and goings have been a bit slow since Elder Seti made things a bit more expensive for the other clans," the guard admitted. "Elder Charminei and Alexian of Char are here, so that's a bit of news. But the town's hoppin' quite a bit with all the building going on."

The other guard, not as talkative as his fellow but still genial in demeanor, asked, "What's your business with Linnod, miss? Just coming to buy some things in the market or are you visiting someone?" There usually wasn't any other reason other people of Naurorod came to Linnod.

Sharna raised a brow. "Well, being honest? It's my first time here." She didn't want to say that it was her first time in a community bigger then a pissant little village and appear like a total moron. "A lot of it is just, well, seeing what there is to see and what opportunities present themselves."

She cocked her head as she sized the pair of them up. "But aorund here, there's not much call for you guys to do much beyond keeping an eye on things, right?"

[Kender Bard]

"Well welcome to Linnod then," one guard said in response to her first statement.

The second shrugged and shook his head. "No there's not a terrible much to do. And I thank the Forces for that; after all, our job is violent. I'd rather it stayed quiet. Why do you ask?"
