[ADoC] Splinter: Locket and Lilith

[Kender Bard]

Locket brightened at that. "Really? That's lovely! I never knew he had a mother," she mused. "And Nagi will love you. He's such an affectionate man. Shy, though. Very shy."

[Darastrix]

Lilith laughed softly, toying with her own locket. "Everyone has a mother, dear. Just not always close by." She glanced toward the front of the room again. "Lucifer did mention that Nagi was a quiet, shy young man. I look forward to getting to know him better. And I think I'll have good chance to." Lilith leaned toward Locket and said softly, "My son offered to let me live here, in the palace. I'm not sure if I want to live in this building--I'm so used to temple life now--but I think I will be coming to Khelek. They need Love here."

[Kender Bard]

"Yes they do," Locket agreed quietly. "When I came out here, Nagi asked me to stay for that very reason. I promised to do the best that I could; I'm a Soachian not a Love priestess like you. It's been hard. Everyone's so cold. If it wasn't for Shard bringing a little Flux here for Sinfest I don't think I could have lasted much longer. But I just know that you'll find a warmer reception. Love's priests are like that with people."

[Darastrix]

"I think I'd feel more equipped if I was a servant of Love alone, but I pray that Efil will help me breathe some warmth and life into the people's hearts," Lilith replied. "Perhaps some of my brethren here will feel moved to take on the mantle of Love as well. And if you find yourself needing another friend in the temple, you can always come to me."

[Kender Bard]

"I always want more friends," Locket confided with a slight grin. "Where there are friends, there is home. I'd like to make all of Khelek my friend if it were possible, but of course it's not yet really. I, for one, think that there's hope for the people here."

She turned her gaze back towards Nagi and clasped her hands together tightly. "They need him; a person like him. Someone who cares and wants to make things better. That's why King Lucifer is doing a good job. I think the people here like him more than they let on."

"I suppose it's only fair; Lucifer doesn't let on much himself. I learned that much last night," Lilith said with a slight smile. "Is he always so reserved?"

[Kender Bard]

"Well I don't know him on a personal level or anything," Locket warned. "But as a citizen of Khelek - yes." She blew back her bangs lightly and mused. "I think it's for the best though. It makes him seem like he's really from Khelek. I bet people appreciate that. Too bad I don't know much more on what the past leaders were like."

"If you get curious enough about it, I'm sure you'll find out one way or another," Lilith told her, grinning. "Though I'm sure Nagi might be able to give you some idea. Lucifer said he'd been having Nagi read up on the nation's history and government."

[Kender Bard]

Locket smiled at that but then looked at the floor and remained quiet a moment.

"He's going to be quite busy now, isn't he?" Locket murmured with a sigh.

"Maybe not," Lilith said. "Though I confess I don't know what his duties might be. I know precious little about his land, and even if I did, Lucifer is the first king Khelek has ever had. I don't think he plans to overburden Nagi, though."

[Kender Bard]

"That's good," Locket replied, smiling, sounding a tad more hopeful. "And, well, as for the land; I don't think that Khelek is terribly demanding. The people don't seem often inclined to approach the King for things. At least, not when compared to the royal family in Anarlina."

She seemed to consider something carefully before brightening up. "I think I'll make it my duty to make sure that Nagi doesn't work himself too hard. I could compete with Schuldig on the matter." That cheered her. Locket decided to switch conversational gears abruptly. "Will you be holding sermons of Love and whatnot when you're settled in? I'd like to help, if so."

[Darastrix]

"I hope to," Lilith replied, nodding. "There are other Efil priests here, so I'm sure she'll forgive me if I focus on the message of Love for a time."

Maybe she'd speak to Snowflake about seeing if any other Love priests wanted to become missionaries to Khelek. After what had happened to Ryder and Nalani, some priests might be a bit leery, but others might be even more determined to spread the word of Love.

[Kender Bard]

"Good, good," Locket remarked. "And perhaps once that's been a bit more established I can return to my roots and practice my Soachian ways more." She grinned and glanced upward. "I'm sure m'lord understands. Efil would probably understand you as well."

She glanced at the leaders. "I think they're all done doing their leaderly things for now. Would you like to come with me while I go congratulate Nagi?"

Lilith smiled and nodded. "We can both congratulate him. And I can officially meet my grandson."
