Aakel swatted the back of her neck where the fly bit her and grumbled. It was her corp's turn to patrol the territory for the next three days and she was thoroughly unhappy about it. Normally, Aakel didn't particularily mind patroling, it was routine, the problem was that Thavan wasn't in the same corp anymore. Mates weren't allowed to be together on duty.
So she continued to walk her asigned beat, chatting with one of her Warriors, Demenche, one of the rarer insect affinities, a gypsy moth. Aakel and Demenche weren't particularly friendly, but he was a good, dependable man and the vixen respected him and valued him as a Warrior.
"--then those Seereling 'Guards' showed up and he had to blow the whole thing off."
"Haidar is such a maroon...." Aakel said, chuckling, but her expression soon changed. Atagra was running toward them, the Officer fumed, "Atagra!! What're you doin', runnin' out in plain sight! You have a companion with you, for Worg's sake!" her southernly accent became more prominent whenever she was angry.
The younger sloat Beast saluted, almost appologetically, "I'm sorry, Officer Obrhim, but we just spotted Officer Keherth to the North. What should we do, ma'am?"
Aakel blinked at the name, vaguely recalling it. "Keherth?" she turned to Demenche, who scratched his chin, "She left on a Force Quest some time ago." He said quite ordinarily, "You know her, Thrae is comanding her squad in her absence."
"Ma'am?" questionned Atagra.
"Just go!" grumbled Aakel, "Go on, git! She's an Officer, go escourt her!"
"Ma'am!" So he turned and scampered away.
Later, after Aakel's corp was releaved, she immediately sought out Thavan, mostly forgetting about Officer Keherth despite the all the hub-dub of a returning pilgrim. She smiled as she spotted him and made her way accross the dusty avenues of the village.
