Miraya walked down the street of the central city of Khelek, huddling deep inside her cloak, cursing silently to herself for ever being talked into coming to this cursed place. Blast the cold, blast the icy wind. She wasn't used to this kind of chill and she dearly hoped that she wasn't going to be here long enough to become used to it.
Clutching inside her cloak, she kept hidden, from the weather as much as from un-wanted eyes, a folder in which contained notes that she had taken since before coming here and after. The notes she had taken after arriving here weren't much, but what she had she didn't want any but herself and, she shivered, her partner to see.
Opening the door to a sturdy building, she went inside, greeted the Keeper, as she called him, and moved down the hall to her room. Once inside, she would feel safe enough, and almost warm enough, to remove her cloak.
"Hey, I'm back," she called out softly once she unlocked the door and entered. She stopped soon enough though and very nearly groaned. She had expected her partner to be here, yes, but what she didn't expect, and maybe should have, was to find her standing naked, or very nearly so, in front of the wardrobe, contemplating her choice of clothing.
"Oh," Loni said, looking up, and barely covering a grimace. "You're back far earlier then I expected." She put a slender hand on her slim waist, cocking her hips to one side. "I was just getting ready to go out."
"In that?" Miraya asked, pointedly, not even bothering to hide her disdain.
Loni rolled her eyes, "What? Are you kidding?" she asked, her voice mimicking Miraya's own soft alto. "I would ruin my perfect complexion!" turning, she rustled through the clothing. "No, Miraya. I intend to wear something...but, oh, what to wear..." she fussed.
The short woman shed her cloak and put it very neatly on the pin made for it and sat down, putting her folder on the desk. Pushing her dislike aside, she stated, "I haven't gotten much today, but there were some recent visitors about Lucifer's place."
Loni turned her head and then nodded. "I'd heard the same thing," pulling out a dress, she slipped it over her head and it molded itself to her body. Then, diving back into the wardrobe, she continued. "One of us should try to get closer."
"That would be your job," Miraya replied, dryly.
"I know," she said cheerfully, and came out of the wardrobe holding a fur-lined coat, which she started to put on and button. The coat was thick and snug, keeping her warm but hugging her curves surprisingly well. Below the coat's buttoned collar was a cutout section exposing an impressive amount of cleavage, ringed by the soft fur of the coat. The lower half of the coat hung like a skirt, slit the whole way up the right side like the dress she wore. She could, if she wanted, expose her right leg all the way to the hip and reach the Storm sign there, but otherwise the heavy fabric would stay put to keep her warm.
Miraya sighed and waved her hand. "I hope you don't get cold."
Waving the comment off, Loni opened the door and closed it behind her, before gliding down the hall and out of the building. With just some luck, which she always seemed to have, she would find someone worth bedding this night. Hopefully, with some more luck, the person would actually be good looking. She couldn't expect it all the time, but one could always hope.
