Anarlina as a whole was in a merry mood as the nation became swarmed with revelers. The wedding would be held in the Temple of Love, and already those seats that were not reserved were being snatched up. People who could not get a seat inside set up a carnival of sorts outside, and hoped anxiously that they might be one of the lucky ones who got to get into the castle for the ceremony afterwards.

Twilight, nervous, was pacing about. He'd agreed to meet the foreign dignitaries and anyone of importance with Emerald. Emerald was not wearing a dress, but her full knightly array, and was quite an imposing figure. Just how she liked it. Twilight was dressed in white for once. He couldn't remember the last time he was. But rather than gold, the trimming was all in navy.

River arrived with Gale, seeing this auspicious occasion as good a place as any to spread a little good will. It had been longer then ever before since he last left the Southern nations, and that is even including his recent trip. This time around, he was just determined to be friendly and wish the new couple best of luck. He put on a bright smile as he moved to greet the pacing Twilight.

"Ah! How welcome it is to see you once again Master Twilight. I still feel I haven't apologized enough for our last encounter. I'm happy to see you are well."

He would have greeted Emerald as well, if he recognized her for who she was in her dress. He did however turn and give her a formal bow. He was wearing his robes for special occasions, a jade green coloration with white trim. As with most public appearances he wore a hat that was meant to make him look taller then he really was.

Twilight nodded to River. A part of him wondered if he ought to leave the man to his own devices as he had done, but the Prince sighed inwardly as his conscience whispered that he was better than that. He could dump him on Emerald instead. Muwahaha.

"It's fine," he said simply to River, and took Gale's free hand. The Lady smiled and shifted her hold on her daughter, giggling as Twilight kissed the back of her hand.

"Ah, flirt," Gale laughed.

Twilight smiled and relinquished her hand. "May I introduce you both to my sister, Emerald. Em! Come say hello to the Leaders of Humontis."

Emerald sighed deeply, though carefully as so it would not show. She was hoping she could dump the vast majority of the work on Twilight, but her eldest brother had beaten her to it. She strode over and bowed back to River. "A pleasure to meet you."

As this was going on, Twilight slipped away, feeling clever.

River smiled softly to Emerald, trying to think as quickly as his sometimes non existent social graces would allow him to. At least he started it out well enough, and in the end he probably wouldn't have to end up in her company for too long. He just thought he would try to make the subject something she liked, and looking her over he could figure what that was.

"The pleasure is mine, what with meeting the lynch pin of Anarlina's famed guard. You truly strike a powerful image, very respectable honestly. I won't hold you up too long though with my prattle, this lovely woman to my side is Gale."

Well, there goes nothing, at the very least he hoped it would seem like he was trying. He kind of wished he knew more about Anarlina's famed guard and what he could reasonably say made them so famous.

Meanwhile, Dusk was fluttering around the room in the palace, checking the laces of her bodice, smoothing her hair, checking her makeup....

"Snow, are my feathers straight?" she asked her fellow bride, turning and spreading her wings. Even though she wasn't marrying the man she wanted, she still wanted to look as perfect as possible.


In a seperate room, Midnight was pacing nervously, fretting to himself about everything that could possibly go wrong and doing his level best to wear a hold in the carpet.

Emerald seemed to smile at his remark, taking the effort for what it was. Gale and Emerald smoke quietly and amiably with one another - they found they had much in common, both being Generals of their nations' armies.

At length, Emerald smiled widely and said to River, "I must steal your wife at the reception. I hope you won't mind."

Snowflake looked at Dusk's wings carefully and then nodded, smiling. She felt a bit fluttery in her stomach at the whole affair, but was keeping a calm poise about herself. She'd seen what pre-wedding jitters can do to a person firsthand and was determined to not fall into that worry. "You look lovely, Dusk."

Despite her best efforts, she was twisting knots into a handkerchief as she waited.

Sunray watched Midnight's pacing with a bemused air. To him, the whole affair was no more nerve wracking than an extravagant holiday dinner. Indeed, that was what he felt, among some other, smaller feelings.

"You'll look silly if you show up to the altar with your soles worn to nothing," he teased gently.

[Darastrix]

Dusk smiled brightly and hugged Snow gently, careful not to muss either of them. "So do you."

She covered Snow's hands with her own and whispered conspiratorily "A good way to stop worrying about the ceremony is to look forward to tonight." Dusk giggled wickedly, thinking about how she'd teased her brother about the same earlier. The poor man had been red as a beet.

"I'm sure most people will be too busy looking at our sisters in their gowns to worry about my shoes," Midnight said, pausing briefly before pacing some more. He stopped short, turned around, and began in the opposite direction.

"I can't help it. I think I've had every single 'what if?' possible going through my head since last night. I know none of it's likely to happen, but still...." He sighed. "I really can't wait for this to be overwith."

[Devon]

Marion strode into the wedding and immediately started to search for Emerald. Spotting her with another woman he walked over and bowed graciously. "Pardon my intrusion, but I had to pay my respects to the Princess today. I'm Marion Kelly by the way, nice to meet you m'lady."

[Kender Bard]

Snowflake blushed as well but giggled quietly. She had been looking forward to that thought. "I hope the boys are okay," she murmured wistfully.

Sunray felt bad for the man, a bit. "What scenario in specific are you most worried about?" he inquired, hoping to put some of the man's fears to rest.

"A pleasure," Gale replied, grinning.

Emerald was in high spirits, and so treated Marion genially. "Marion! It's great to see you. This is Lady Gale, Lord River's wife. She's a general of their army, just like me."

River smiled widely, happy that the two took off even if his comment wasn't all that engaging for Emerald. When Marion approached he bowed to him amicably and was overall just happy to feel the good mood spreading at this little corner of the field.

"Of course lady Emerald, I'd be happy to let her spend time with you for as long as you both would like. Gale, I'm sure you know where to find me, would you like me to take Cherry for a while you stay here? It wouldn't hurt for me to greet everyone else."

With that he stepped back a couple steps to allow everyone to talk and enjoy one another's company. For once he was quite content with sitting back silently and letting others talk, he really found the atmosphere to be quite enjoyable on this day.

"They'll be fine," Dusk assured her. "Well, Sunny will be, I'm sure. It's really just another official ceremony for him. Midnight's having a touch of nerves, though, poor dear."

"I love Snowflake so very much; this is my fondest dream come true. Half the time I can scarcely believe it," Midnight told him. "And I know it won't happen, but I keep remembering that ball. One moment in happiness and love, and the next wondering what I did that made things go so terribly wrong. Nobody should ever feel like that, and I hope I never experience it again."

[Devon]

Marion bowed to River as well and turned his attention back to Gale and Emerald. "Ah, then the two of you should get along well," he said with a smile. "Nice to meet you Lady Gale, where are you and your husband from?"

[Kender Bard]

Gale smiled at River and nodded, passing their daughter to him. "Go show her off," she encouraged. Turning to Marion, she answered, "Humontis."
Displaying all her diplomacy, Emerald joked, "Where the women are monks, and the men wear strange hats?" Gale laughed heartily. Emerald immediately liked her even more.

Thelon looked about with open curiosity at his surroundings. He'd gotten the mental 'landing spot' from a Mind helping to orchestrate the wedding. Now he wanted to explore a bit, and impress the new surroundings on his memory. "Tres, dear, let me have Flames. I feel like walking around a bit."

"Pretty!" Libre and Luminous exclaimed together as they looked at all the decorations.

Lya clapped her wings around herself, acutely embarassed, and immediately set off trying to locate Salacia or one of the royals.

"Ah?" Snowflake inquired, sounding dismayed. "You don't think he'll run out will you?" She began to fidget more, her own fears - so carefully held in check thusfar - beginning to sink in.

Sunray pat the man on the shoulder gently. "That was bad, but it was also the result of unusual circumstances," he agreed. "I promise you, it shall not happen today. Snow has been radiant with joy at the thought of being married at last, and to such a sweet and charming man, as she puts it."

[Northen Light36]

"Lya! Shadow, over here!" Shadow looks around and smiles to see Flash hurrying towards them. "I thought you might show up, even if you didn't recieve your invitation," the advisor remarks. "Come on, both of you. I brought some of your formal clothes, we'll get them and you can get changed."

"What would we do without you, Flash?" Shadow comments with a smile as Flash picks up Lumi.

"Show up to a wedding without anything suitible to wear," Flash replies with a tolerant smile. "Come on Lumi, let's get you all dressed up. This way your Majesties." Flash quickly bustles the royal family off to change.

"Don't get lost dear," Tres says teasingly to Thelon, handing her daughter. Ann looks to the adults eagerly.

"Can I take Libre and look around, please?" Tres and Damien hestitate, each silently debating the safety of letting both the Mind and Fire Heirs go off alone.

"Only if Thelon doesn't mind you going with him," Damien says firmly, looking at Thelon for his feeling on that.

[Kender Bard]

Thelon shifted his daughter in his arms, smiling at her, and looking thoughtfully at his son. "Libre, you know what to do if a stranger tries to get too close to you, right?"

"Teleport home," Libre replies promptly. "And if I can't do that, I gotta call for you or Mom."

Nodding, pleased, Thelon replies, "I think they'll be fine as long as they don't stray off the church's grounds. This IS the home of Love. I think they'll be safe enough."
