The Peddler rode into Ronduin after his cart was ferried across the water and entered the market district before he begins to hawk his wares. "Are you looking for some fine silver for your special somebody? Or perhaps need wine for a celebration? I even carry with me some extra Humontis medicine, special discount price." He mutters under his breath about this not being the best place to sell medicine from a foreign country.

[Kender Bard]

After arriving in Ronduin and slowly regaining her strength, Meeka finally felt well enough to travel around Ronduin. She was loathe to stray from Etch, however, and clung to his hand tightly. Her eye catching the cart. "Oh, Etch," she cooed quietly. "Look, silver jewelry."

[tuo]

Etch smiled and examined the silver closely.

The Peddler grins. "Ah, I see the lady has quite the eye for skilled workmanship. Perhaps your distinctive friend here would like to buy something for you miss?"

Etch looked at Meeka to gauge just how interested she was in getting something, uncertain if they have the ability to pay for it.

[Kender Bard]

Meeka fingered the metal, picking up a link necklace and letting it run between her fingertips. "This is good quality stuff," she admitted. "From..." She shut her eyes and squeezed her hand around the necklace, lips moving silently.

"From the Kingdom I believe.. Hmm." She let the metal down softly, mumbling, "I doubt we could afford this, sir."

[tuo]

The peddler looks disappointed. "Ah, well that's quite a shame miss. Though I am interested in how you knew where this silver came from..are you a jeweler yourself?"

[Kender Bard]

"Oh! No," she murmured with a blush. "I am an Earth, born in Humontis. I work closely within the bowels of the earth. I know what the rare metal from there feels like, and besides, there is really precious little under the soil to be dug up and worked into jewelry."

[tuo]

The Peddler hmms as he considers something. "I may be making a trip back to Humontis after my time here..you two look to be capable and..in your friends case..imposing." The Peddler coughs in his hand. "I think I might be able to offer a significant discount on that piece if you two were willing to work as bodyguards for both me and my wares."

Etch raises an eyebrow in interest. "That is a very generous offer..If that seems good for you Meeka I think we should consider it.."

[Kender Bard]

Meeka looked a bit uneasy but she could not stay away from Humontis forever.. it helped that she had garnered River's forgiveness.

"I think that it seems reasonable to me, but if you had other plans, ma- .. Etch, then I would forgo any luxury. After all," she murmured, "your quest is holy and of utmost importance."

[tuo]

Etch smiles and takes Meeka's hand. "It's all right. Even discipline has a point where it loses it's purpose without comfort and luxury. We accept your offer..um..I'm afraid we don't know your name."

The Peddler smiled widely. "Oh everybody just calls me The Peddler so I just use that. And thank you. You two can start anytime you like, though the earlier you start the more pay you will receive."

[Kender Bard]

"I can start soon," Meeka replied, taking the necklace and carefully putting it on. She smiled, though she was unsure of how it looked on her. "In fact, tomorrow if you will have me." She displayed her new treasure off to Etch.

Etch smiles. "That looks good on you." He strokes her cheek softly.

The peddler coughs into his hand. "Ahem...I hate to ruin a tender moment..but I would prefer if you would accept payment after you start working for me..business you see. I can hold it separate from the rest of the merchandise however."

[Kender Bard]

Meeka nodded, unhooking the necklace and handing it back with a little bow. "I understand. I wanted to see if Etch approved. Thank you, sir."

[tuo]

The peddler smiled and nodded as he put that particular silver necklace away safely. "I look forward to seeing you both at work tomorrow."

[Kender Bard]

Meeka gave a little, silent bow as she held Etch's hand and left with him.

"I hope you don't mind," she mumbled, blushing. "I didn't mean to put us into debt."

Etch held her hand and kissed her on the cheek. "It isn't a problem. We could not stay in this city for too long regardless. This gives us a job and a cheap means of travel together."
