Putting an end to madness|Lhach Linnod | Naurorod

Salvador gave a light knock on the open door to the Linnod temple sleeping quarters. He waited a couple moments for privacies sake before opening the door a crack. He was an eccentric man but at least tried to meet his high priest halfway.

"A mister Ilis Chirull here to see you master, he comes unarmed."

A familiar face then stood behind the door frame, an apologetic looking Ilis. One could tell that the face was hard for him to make but for right now it was for the greater good. There is only one man that can help in all this and he is behind this door.

[Devon]

Christian rises from his position on the floor, he was in the middle of his morning prayer and meditation. Taking a few moments to make himself presentable, he changed into his daily robes from a spot in the room that couldn't be seen through the space where the door had been opened.

Finally going to the door he opens it all the way and stands face to face with Ilis. "Thank you Salvador," he replied to his fellow priest, "I did not expect to see you again Ilis. What is it that I can do for you today?"

Ilis nodded his head at the greeting, it had been calmer then he expected. Last time he was awfully brusque with the man, maybe the defense of the temple gave him a get out of trouble free pass but he couldn't play that for too long.

"First I want to apologize for our last meeting, I didn't know then what I do now. More importantly though, I need to talk to you about recent events, things that only you can help Christian. Things are getting out of hand and I believe that you might be the key to putting an end to them. I have a proposition that you may like if you would just hear me out."

He waited for a response, looking Christian square in the eyes. He had the honor of a warrior still, and he would make sure to show all the proper respects of it. He came very much unarmed and in a very casual clothing style for Naurorod. This was so he obviously couldn't be hiding any weapons either.

[Kender Bard]

Thessa looked at Ilis over Christian's shoulder. Though her face didn't register surprise, she certainly felt it. "Master, this man sought to attack the ruins of our home," she whispered in his ear as she moved to hover slightly at his side, glaring at Ilis darkly.

[Devon]

Christian started to nod his head to Ilis, but stopped mid-motion when Thessa spoke to him. Staring at Ilis, he mulled over his mind just how he wanted to treat this situation. He did indeed remember how Ilis had treated him in their first meeting, but he also kept in mind what he said.

With a grim nod he looked to Salvador. "Have a room prepared so that we can sit and talk. Also make sure there is a pot of tea there. Taed may be the Force of death, but his priests do have hospitality." Turning his head to face Thessa he quickly replies to her, "I'll keep that in mind during my talk with him. Will you be joining me there or do you have something you need to do?"

Salvador wandered off, tugging Ilis along with him. He would give his leader some time to plan his move in this chess of a talk that is about to come up. He has plenty of pointless stories he can tell Ilis to pass the time and possibly get the man riled up anyway. It would help the cause, he might be angry, but he would tell the truth in that condition.

[Kender Bard]

"I will join you," Thessa remarked coolly. "I will always be by your side until you dismiss me, my love." She mimed stroking his cheek with the back of her hand. Her ghostly fingers were like the coldest ice. "I will be the word of Taed, your council."

[Devon]

Christian nods with a fond smile in return to Thessa. The coldness he felt was almost soothing to him. "all right, let's go meet with Ilis then." Leaving his room, he waited for Thessa to follow him before closing the door. It was an unnecessary step, but it was just a habit of his. His smile faded and the expression on his face turned to steel. He was mentally preparing himself for whatever Ilis was going to bring to the table.

Ilis was staring daggers at Salvador at this point, he had gotten just about enough of the man's insane ramblings about whatever it was. He didn't even know such a person could function in the outside world. The only thing keeping him from striking is his position in the negotiations. He perked up quickly when Christian entered though.

"Good you decided to join me, your companion as well," he had time to get over the fact that she was here. She threatened his troops when they were after the Efil army of all objectives, "I'll get straight to the point. Revenge, is fine, I encourage it actually as it balances out this world. What I am here to ask you though is to see, rationally, that what you are doing isn't revenge. It is destructive madness and its harming those that aren't even your enemy. I have reports that the undead have reached Flux of all places. This is getting beyond control, and I'm begging you to repress your armies, there are other ways of doing this, trust me, vengeance is my forte. If you need proof tell Charanth my name."

His eyes were pleading, if Flux fell that means the armies wouldn't stop when they reached Athrug. He couldn't let that happen, if perhaps he could have Christian stand at the head of a coalition this would all end.

[Devon]

Taking a seat in a chair opposite from Ilis, Christian sat up as tall as he could. Christian stared at Ilis while he spoke, the name Charanth meant nothing to him, but he could tell Ilis was serious about his encouragement of revenge. Nodding his head in thought he turned his attention away from Ilis for a moment and glanced at Thessa. "Is this true Thessa? Are the forces of the undead really in Flux at the moment?"

[Kender Bard]

Thessa smirked, looking immensely satisfied. "A handful. You speak of revenge, sir? Well, I was settling my own. Not enough to hurt our army's numbers even if Flux destroyed them all. My business ended there. We will not bother them again unless they take measures to get in our way."

[adris]

Ilis scowled for but a moment, then returned to his steeled face that he came in here with. She was proud of what she did, that didn't make any sense. If anyone was the ally of Taed tossing the world into the depths of Chaos it would have to be Soahc wouldn't it?

"Your army is out of control, you threatened my people's lives already, and that was when we were hunting the Efil army. And now Soahc, as close to a force as you have that would like you. I'm just glad we didn't take a neutral stance in the battle or we would be killed already. You ran through Ilyamen, not just attacking Efil but also citizens who just wanted to live. Christian, I beg you for the innocent people who follow Worg and the other neutral forces, call off the undead army, there are other ways to do this. I will deliver the general of Acoia to you, I will dedicate my army to rebuild your temple, anything else."

He wasn't against tearing down Efil temples, it was the threat they posed to followers of Worg that he was there for. That was transparent as he was talking about them.

[Devon]

Christian's face doesn't show the dread he was feeling after what he had just heard from Thessa and Ilis. Deciding to save his talk with Thessa for a more private moment, he nodded to Ilis and replied, "I will consider your offer, in the meantime you'll be treated as a guest while you are here. The forces of Taed will no longer touch those who aren't involved in this war. While innocents are mistakingly accounted for among the casualties of war, I give my word that I will try my best to limit such deaths."

[Kender Bard]

Thessa gave Christian a sharp look. She was obviously angry with him about this decision. "All life is forfeit," she insisted. "All but the faithful."

Ilis took a breath of relief, he wasn't going to stop them if they were going to go after just Efil priests. If that was the case the blood would be paid for and in his book that is how it should be. He began to bow deeply and thank Christian when Thessa put in her comment. Standing erect again he took a step away from the table, he looked a Christian with a face that those that know him know very well. The one he shows when he feels he was right the entire time.
