Grave Tidings from Naurorod.|Raynham, Reave

Qwynh was flying low, gliding mostly.

Her shoulders felt as though they would rupture at any given moment and her broken leg was hideously swollen and limp, no longer able to sustain the stress of her tail membrane. Qwynh was forced to beat her wings awkwardly to compensate.

Air burned down her raw throat, only adding to her misery, but Qwynh had to move onward, she had to pass on the message, she had to deliver the warning to the rest of the country. This, her finest hour, her most urgent delivery.

The poor bat felt as if her body could shatter, like it could just fall apart. She was all but spent.

Squinting, Qwynh could make out the ragged outline of Reave, a loud sob of relief shook her body. Gently, she angled her wings downward, she was vaguely aware of hitting market stalls, or were they people?

Qwynh was surprised, she never realized how soft the streets were.....

Lying in the market avenue, a winged Beast was wheezing heavily, her face against the hard stone. The only legible words she spoke were: "Leader.....Jhaal.....Wyrm...."

[Devon]

Sage emerges from the home he shared with his friends to check on the thud he had heard in the streets. Spotting Qwynh he rushes over and checks on the girl. "Miss..miss. Tch. " Sage carefully picks the woman up and takes her to the nearest healer in Reave.

[Toyoll]

Qwynh felt as though she was paralyzed, every movement took a titanic effort and her mind was bogged down from lack of air, fatigue and immense pain. But the bat could feel something happening.

She oppened a large, glazed eye and peered through the mist. She saw a fuzzy shape, blinking, the image slowly focused. A face? Qwynh finally realized that she was speaking, "Leader Jhaal....wyrm?.....WYRM! No!" She flaired her wings and her eyes snapped open. But this was followed by a wave of agony, so sharp and sudden that Qwynh barked out an ear-splitting whine.

[Devon]

"Ugh!" Sage winces and covers his ears. Using telepathy he speaks into her mind to try and calm her down. ~Miss you have to calm down, I know you're in pain, but you are in good hands now. My name is Sage, you must be looking for Jhaal though. I don't know where he is right now, but after you have rested you can go see him.~

[Toyoll]

Qwynh froze, the words were so clear in her mind, she clinged to them like a newborn. She furled her wings and calmed down, trying to breath normally, "Thank you....sir..." she could taste the tangy flavor of her own blood, her last sonic cry seemed to have blasted her voice."My....Name's...Qwynh...Damani....I have to see...Jhaal..Urgent."

The bat managed to gather herself up sufficiently to atleast manage a heavy limp. Even in pain, she never forgot her manners, she didn't want him to have to support her too much. Not that Qwynh was really heavy, hollow bones and a small frame couldn't allow it.

[Devon]

"W-wait..you shouldn't move so soon. You just fell out of the sky Qwynh. If you wait here for a while I can find Jhaal and bring him back here to you, but you really shouldn't be moving so much right now."

[Toyoll]

Qwynh nodded, her breath slowly returning to her, "Thank you...again. Sorry for the trouble. I think...I think I'll take a rest now......"

With that Qwynh slumped and gently slid down to the ground where she fought off sleep...

(I'm really just stalling for Jhaal to come here and post. I could bring Trevor if you wanted, but you asked for the leader not a council man.)

Sage leave s Qwynh in the care of the healer while he goes off to get Jhaal and bring him back. "No sense in letting her walk over to his place in his condition."

[jhaal]

(I can bring in Jhaal, assuming he's been summoned- anytime you like.)

[Devon]

(Go ahead and bring him in then)

[jhaal]

Hurrying, the Clear leader arrived on the scene, looking quite concerned. "What's going on?"

[Toyoll]

Qwynh became lucid the instant she heard the Clear Leader's voice, she craned her flexible neck to see him. A small noise, something like surprise, escaped from her jaws, she scrambled to stand up, although it was more like a crouch. She stood on one leg and supported the rest of her weight on her two long arms. They shook violently and the bat swayed from left to right.

"Sir Jhaal! A...A monster....A great black wyrm! I-I don't know what it is!...It steals your powers! It's scales are inpenetrable! I-It's attacking Naurorod.....All those people..." by this point, Qwynh's ordeals caught up with her. Tears rolled freely down her russet muzzle, "I-I'm cut off from them....I can't feel the animals.....They're gone....." The rest of her words were drowned in sobs. Qwynh was a Seereling. Death and destruction weren't things she was eqquiped to handle.

((*ponder* Wouldn't her powers have returned once she left the area of Naurorod though? Or has that fact just not really caught up with her in her distressed and injured state?))

((Oh don't worry, she's in a panic at this state. She couldn't sense animals even she was healthy.))

Shocked at first by the state the Beast was in, Jhaal's features hardened as he heard her news. A monster was the last thing Naruta needed right now if even a tenth of the rumours he'd heard recently turned out to be true.

"Did they send you to ask for assistance?" he asked, trying to keep any hint of urgency out of his voice. "Did you speak to Damien?"

Suddenly ashamed by his lack of consideration for the clearly traumatised visitor, Jhaal calmed himself and looked the bat over carefully. "In any case, you're safe here. We'll look after you."
