Trust one's parents to always give good advice. Locke had "called" his last night, explaining what had befallen Talen'sul and how Lya had fallen apart. Cornelius, ever effective, had suggested finding a psychic therapist. Lya could not afford to fall apart, or all of Talen'sul would, even with the aid of her aides. Psychic therapy would help make her grief manageable so she could manage her affairs.

Mentis wasn't much of a town for psychic therapy, so that left Sensatia.

Thus, there Locke was, teleporting into Thelon's office at seven in the morning; it was the only place in Sensatia he knew.

Lord Thelon was not in; he didn't tend to his affairs until at least eight in the morning. But that didn't mean his office was unattended. One of his counselors was there, organizing the paperwork. Enya looked up with a start at Locke's approach, then gave Locke a puzzled look.

"Do you need something?" she asked. "Master Thelon isn't in at the moment."

"Perhaps you could help me?" Locke inquired, pulling his hood down. "A good friend of mine has just lost her husband, but she can't afford to fall apart yet. I was hoping to find a psychic therapist to make her grief manageable. Cost is no matter."

It would come out of his pocket, but it was no matter. He didn't spend much.

Enya perked up and nodded enthusiastically. "Oh, well, I know just the man! His name is Mikasi, and while he specializes in simply soothing weary minds of their fatigue, he's also been known to take on trauma cases as well." She looked around, grabbed a scrap of parchment and a quill and scribbled down the address, holding it out to Locke. "You'll find him at his shop and home, 'Weary Minds'."

That was just the break he needed. Locke smiled as he accepted the parchment. "Thank you very much," he said kindly, and bowed to her. "I appreciate your time and your assistance," he finished, and went for the door. Once he got outside, he got his bearings, pulled his hood up, and went to find Mikasi.

It was only a ten-minute walk, but that was more than enough in the cold weather. Locke could have tried teleporting, but a "blind" jump almost never ended well, and the very few times he'd tried it, he'd been very lucky not to end up someplace bad.

And this WAS for Lya's sake, and for Talen'sul.

Locke took off one of his gloves and knocked on the door of Weary Minds.

The door opened, letting a wave of heat and pleasant scents roll out into the street, like a welcoming hand.

The black haired Mind blinked at Locke and smiled. Floating just above his left shoulder was a small crystal that glimmered in the light. ~Welcome to Weary Minds.~ He pulled the door open wider and beckoned. ~Come on inside and have a seat. I'm not entertaining anyone at the moment, so if you like, we can get right down to business.~

"Thank you," Locke said gratefully, sparing the crystal only a glance as he stepped inside, pushing off his hood. He inhaled deeply, relishing the scents and the warmth, and nodded to the other Mind. "I assume you're Mikasi? I was told by a servant in Lord Thelon's household that you specialize in trauma."

Mikasi looked a little downcast at Locke's words. ~Well, I wouldn't say that I specialize, sir. I have a.. knack for the traumatized. I discovered it after I started giving therapy to Minds who had seen loved ones destroyed in the Clear Wars, or who were especially disturbed at the capture of Thelon. I prefer to work with mentally sound people, but...~ He straightened a little. ~I can't turn down one who isn't. It goes against my morals. If you'll just find a comfortable spot to sit or lie down, we can begin, sir.~

"Oh, no, I'm not the one who needs your skills," Locke explained. "Queen Lya of Caelium's husband was killed very recently, but unfortunately, she has no time to grieve. Politics and forces outside Caelium are forcing her to act, but she can't, not while in mourning. I was hoping you would be able to help her set her grief aside until the matter is settled."

Mikasi gulped at what Locke was asking him to do. ~That's a mighty tall order, sir. But I suppose now more than ever I must rise to the occasion, huh? While the Kingdom may not be officially affiliated with Sensatia, it's well known that Master Thelon holds a great respect for your King and Queen. Call it a civic duty, if not a personal one.~ He looked around, then began to snuff out candles and put out all the herbs that were smoldering before racing upstairs. When he came back down, he had a small pack slung over one shoulder. ~I'm ready when you are. I can teleport myself if you'll just give me a picture of the destination.~

"We'll go together," Locke told the doctor with a grateful smile. "I too have duties in Talen'sul." He held out his left hand for Mikasi to take and built an image of his own quarters in his mind, clenching his right fist to share the memory with the other mind.

With a nod to show he'd gotten it, Mikasi teleported.
