Leaning heavily on his cane, Old Simius hobbled along the path to his home. He never thought that this was the place he would at last settle down in. His grandkids were almost grown and he was too old. Simius had outlived his own wife Missy. He bore scars of experience all over his body. He was blind in his left eye and a long scar from just above his eye trailed down to the bottom of his jaw.

A deep frown lined his aged face as he started thinking about how careless he was in his life. However, he was young and hot-headed. Now he carried a bit more wisdom, even if his temper still flared on occasion. Out of all of it though he longed to be fighting along side his old comrades again. When he saw a brave man carrying a long sword at his waist Simius would be filled with envy.

Simius paused at a store. He never knew the name of it and never went inside. Today he decided he would. He would brave the three steps leading up into it and dare to look around inside. It was slow but he managed to get up the stairs. He pushed the two-way door in and was met with a musty smell. It had an antique feeling to it and the items looked ancient. They were definately a collection of odds and ends found in foreign lands. He spotted a unique vase sitting idly on the floor. It was made of a reddish looking wood and had strange engravings all over it. "Well don't you look out of place," said Simius in a raspy voice.

Still in his ever reaching quest to discover holes in time Tylio travelled to a spot outside of the library that might provide some answers. He had heard of a place with old items, and with old items may come what he needs.

"Oh? He-h-h-hello there. I didn't ex-expe-e-e-think I would find anyone else in a place like this."

He always had a habit of changing the word he was trying to use if he got caught on one for too long. For some reason his eye always seemed to fire off the most on certain words, the 'z' sound was expecially hard to pull off for some reason.

Looking away from the unique vase, Simius looked into the eyes of a stranger. With a weak grin he replied in a friendly tone, "Well I didn't expect anyone to be here either. My name is Simius." He shuffled his feet so that he turned to face the person and shake his hand. "You seem a bit scholarly... what do you make of this vase," he asked? "I've never seen the like before."

Tylio took the elderly gentlemen's hand and shook it energetically. He met week smile with a wide and happy grin. After the question was asked he moved over to the object and began to look it over.

"I must t-t-tell you that this is new to me as w-well. I deal in fine artistic items myself, b-b-but I havn't seen marks like this. Per-p-perhaps it is the old Earth language."

He didn't know the language enough to be sure about it though. The material that the vase was made out of seemed to match. It could also match up well perhaps with one of the beast tribes, known for thier pictoral languages in some of the mobile ones such as bison.

"I see, I see," answered Simius. His voice cracked and he was caught up in a coughing fit for a moment. When that was setttled he carefully turned back to the vase. "It sure does attract someone's eye. The red wood looks so unique but the carvings make it seem out of place. It must be really old." He was unaware of how excited his voice became.

Simius decided that he liked this man, "Do you mind if we look at more items together. I would like to hear what you can tell me about them." In his mind he was young again and imagining the unique things the lands had to offer.

Tylio replaced the vase where it was supposed to be and turned to the kindly old man, a wide smile on his face.

"S-s-sure, lead the way. I don't know how m-mu-m-much help I will be thou-though."

He waits for the older gentlemen to walk ahead, being sure to be patient for the man's walking speed. This isn't what he expected to be doing with his day but it was fun so he didn't even think to argue. (14)

"Good, good," Simius walked slowly on through the crowded store. It wasn't crowded with people but stuff... Things that seemed to be from ancient times. A small round table caught his eye this time. It seemed to be made of the same wood as the vase and had similar carvings. However it was weighed down with other objects. There was a box of trinkets, a small stone animal, and so on. "Why that poor table is being tortured," commented Simius.

Tylio looked at the table and smiled, he figured the wood would take much more before it actually snapped. The way things were created in ancient times were amazing compared to the meathods of today.

"Its a very we-w-well made table. Almost like a turtle's shell, it can bear a h-h-h-hea-weighty burden."

He was interested in the carvings. He could swear now that they might have been of vagabond beast tribes, but he couldn't figure out why they would have use for a table like this. It would only make it difficult to move around with its odd shape.

"Do you suppose that there may have been some wealthy home this was once a part of? I mean... the vase and the table... There are probably more to go along with it but," he looked around him for a moment. "It seems they are not here though." He sighed, "I could only imagine what that home must have been like. I would loved to seen such a wonderous place." Simius didn't realize he was rambling again. It seemed to be a trait people picked up on as they aged and their minds began to wither.
