Preparing for a Journey|Aegestrom, Maelstrom

Sierra, Karin, Fern, and Shyn arrive in Maelstrom a shortwhile after leaving Ronduin. Fortunately, among the four there is enough ability to tell direction that they managed to avoid getting too terribly lost.

"It's changed a bit since the last time I was here. I can't quite place how, but something's changed here or maybe I didn't notice something I notice now," Sierra says a bit thoughtfully. "What do you think of Maelstrom?"

"It's busier here than in Talen'sul or Ronduin... I think it'd be easy to get lost," Karin replies. "But there'll be quite a bit to see."

[Kender Bard]

"I don't remember anything of Maelstrom either," Fern confessed, "Though I sense tension in the air. And there are a number of guards, hm, interesting. I guess becoming part of a kingdom makes you more paranoid?"

[aivea]

"That's strange... Seems like it would be the other way around; the stronger, and better trained you are, the less reason there is to be paranoid," Sierra replies.

"Maybe they're expecting something?" suggests Karin.

[Kender Bard]

Fern frowned thoughtfully. "If that's the case, it might bear finding out about. Where's the best place to find this sort of information out anyway? The bars?"

[aivea]

Sierra nods. "Proabably. The odds of finding someone willing to talk tend to be a bit higher at bars, and people do tend to gather there after a long day's work. I guess the drinks make sharing information more appealing."

[Kender Bard]

"Everything is more appealing with drink," Fern says coyly, winking. "Wanna split up or come with me as I needle the local drunks?"

[aivea]

"Hm... I don't want to make you nervous by giving you an extra audience or distract them, so I'll see what's around for supplies and find out anything I can from the people in the markets. We'll meet here when we're ready, ok?" Sierra replies, hoping that he wouldn't be offending her by saying that.

[Kender Bard]

"Sounds like a plan," she remarked warmly, giving him a wave farewell as he walked off.
