Hints of the future|Clan Char, Naurorod

Ann rides into Char, clearly in a hurry but not panicked or upset like she might have been a year or so ago. Between Ansax and Damien's teachings, the young Heir is beginning to display the dignity, assurance and sedateness her rank demands. Those who knew Damien as a young boy might be struck by the resemblance Ann shows to her uncle when he was only a few years older then his niece now - a entirely un-childlike hardness to the Heir's eyes and a stubborn set of the chin.

Purposely Ann dismounts and walks with Ember to Charanth's hut, knocking on the door and calling, "Elder Charanth?"

"Ann!" Charanth's delighted voice floated on the air. "One moment, dear." The door opened and Charanth looked down at Ann, smiling; his smile faded abruptly when he saw Ann's face, however. "What's the matter?"

"Uncle Damien sent me with a letter for you," Ann replies, holding it out. "A messager came to Fira and gave Uncle Damien a letter that made him angry, but that's all I know Elder Charanth," she adds.

[Kender Bard]

Charanth nodded, taking the message and reading it. By the time he was done, his eyes were wide with shock and he gave a slight nod. "How soon should I go meet with Damien? I can leave right now, though I'd like to leave some orders with Charminei and Alexi."

Ann shrugs. "Soon would be better," she replies. "But if you wait a bit, Uncle Damien will have time to calm down."

[Kender Bard]

"I doubt he'll turn his fury on me," Charanth chuckled. "But I can understand the need for haste. Just give me a moment. Come in and grab a snack or something to drink while I relay a couple messages of my own."

[Northen Light36]

"Okay Charanth," Ann says with a nod, entering Charanth's hut and finding a snack for herself and a comfortable spot to sit, eat and doze a little. Between her weapons training and the ride to Char, a short nap feels like a very good idea.

[Kender Bard]

All too soon, Charanth is gently shaking her shoulder. "Ann," he calls out. "Ready to go?"

Ann stirs awake easily enough, merely rubbing her eyes and sighing softly before climbing to her feet and looking up at Charanth. "I'm ready," she agrees before going back to where her horse and Ember are waiting and mounting. Once Charanth's ready, she leads the way back to Fira.
