Arlor stepped away from the fruit stand that he stepped up to only a moment before. To everyone watching, it seemed as if he just picked up a fruit, inspected it for a moment, and put it back down before moving on, but in truth, he sneaked the fruit into his long sleeves. Fairly sure that no one saw his trick, he began to leave the marketplace, trying not to look suspicious.

Mat lurks in the shadows of a allyway, watching the streets idly and not working for a change. The robed boy catches the thief's attention however, and after he's moved on a bit, Mat notes there's one less apple on the stand. "Very nicely done," he thinks, deciding to keep an eye on this boy for a bit.

The young man, not risking too much at the marketplace at once, makes his way to the alleyway where Mat stands, intending to use it to avoid being found out with his ill-gained prize.

Mat swiftly slinks farther back into the ally's shadows, hoping to avoid being noticed until he can prove to himself that the boy really did take the missing apple. If he did, he's got talent that'll make this child useful to the Thieves' Guild.

Arlor ducks into the alley without seeing Mat, and peeks out of the alleyway, to make sure no one is watching, or approaching. After a second, and confident no one from the streets were onto him, he pulls the fruit out of his sleeve and inspects it for a moment before biting into it.

Mat smirks and silently draws his dagger before creeping up behind the kid. In a brutally casual movement, Mat attempts to knock the boy out with a sharp blow to the head with the hilt of the dagger.

Arlor, not expecting the blow, succumbs to it and falls to the ground, knocked out.

"Sorry kid," Mat comments before slinging Arlor over his shoulder and heading off to the guild.
