Meet the Parents|Skyheort, Talen'sul

[Devon]

Xavier teleports into Talen'sul and immediately puts up a barrier around himself when he sees a bolt of lightning strike near him. "I don't remember the weather being like this, but then again the weather has become bad everywhere." Focusing on his reason for coming here, Xavier seeks out the nicest looking home and knocks on the door.

[Kender Bard]

The door opens widely and Laura stares out. She has a pinched and haggard look to herself, but smiles warmly when she sees Xavier. "Oh, my, come inside before you get struck by something sir." She opens the door a little wider. "Welcome to my home. Can I help you?"

[Devon]

Xavier enters her home and nods to her politely. "Yes ma'am you can actually. My name is Xavier and I'd like to talk to you about Luna if you don't mind."

[Kender Bard]

Laura freezes while shutting the door, looking terror-stricken. "Is my baby okay?" she asks, a hand going to her chest. Her heart was pounding madly and her stomach twisted in knots at even the hint that Luna might be hurt or worse.

[Devon]

Xavier waves his hands in front of him as if faning out the notion of Luna being hurt or in trouble. "Oh no! I'm so sorry, there is nothing wrong with Luna at all. She is fine..I...I am involved with her and I wanted to meet you and introduce myself."

[Kender Bard]

"Involved?" Laura blinks owlishly at Xavier until it catches up with her. "Oh. Oh! I see!" She smiles at Xavier. "Have a seat sir, I will get you something warm to drink. I'm afraid I have no tea or hot cocoa, though. Times are hard, here." She goes to get a glass, and continues to talk from the kitchen. "When did you two meet?"

[Devon]

Xavier sits down as instructed. "Uh, in the Fall if memory serves me correctly. It was in Maelstrom. I'm sorry to intrude like this in your home, but I really wanted to talk to you. I met her father and uncle briefly..nice men, a tad defensive though. Anyway, I just thought it would be rude not to meet you, you being her mother and all."

[Kender Bard]

Laura laughed, and brought a cup of warm cider over to Xavier as she took her own seat. "A tad defensive? My word, you must have caught them in a very good mood. Otherwise they'd have tried to bite your head off. Don't mind them, though. Luna is dear to them, and they are protective men as they should be." Pain flits across her face, just an instant. "She's all we have, that's all. But I know that's no excuse to chain her home if she wants to fly away. But I would like to know what kind of man you are. Tell me about yourself, sir. Your history, your home, your family..."

[Devon]

Xavier takes the cup and sips a bit of it. "Well, I'm from Talen'sul actually..sort of anyway. I was born in Supernamens, the mind community in Talen'sul. Until recently I was the council man there, but since the move to Sensatia I work with the other community leaders under Master Thelon. As for my family, my mother and father are retired in Mentis and I have an adoptive daughter/son named Divria-Timble."

[Kender Bard]

"Daughter-son?" Laura repeated, puzzled. An idea came to her and she flushed. "Ah, is she, um, of two genders?" There were tales that such unfortunate folk were born...

[Devon]

"Oh no not like that. Timble is in her head. Wow I should really clarify things like this when I bring them up. She isn't crazy if you're wondering about that too, it is like..they are two souls in one body."

[Kender Bard]

Laura frowned thoughtfully and glanced at her fireplace as she contemplated that. "Like... Like twins?"

[Devon]

"Yes, like twins. That is exactly it. Is there anything else you want to know about me? Any concerns?"

[Kender Bard]

"Are you a busy man?" Laura asked carefully. "Would you be away from home often? And how would you react if Luna were to turn a cold shoulder on you for little reason or provocation?"

[Devon]

"Well I am a council man, but my job is relatively easy. I show my face, discuss a few things, and maybe even vote on something every once in a while. As for getting the cold shoulder what man wouldn't be a little hurt by it, but if she is upset for any reason I'll be patient and wait till she is ready to talk about it." Xavier replies, pausing for a moment to sip more of his cider.
