Acqua flinches, her expression instantly nervous. "I'm not," she replies. "I got lost and I've hurt my leg," she replies. Spotting Ryuk in the crowd, Acqua points him out and adds, "He said it was all right for me to stay awhile."

The blind man's face lit up. "Why, I would be delighted," he said charmingly, and stood, willingly following his niece onto the sands. "Is that a waltz they're playing? I used to be quite good at those."

"Something similar," Charminei agrees. "We do the dance differently, but if you don't mind being the center of attention a while, by all means, show me how to waltz!"

Charanth looked thoughtful. First he glanced back at Ryuk, rolled his eyes good naturedly, then dropped down to one knee to inspect her leg without actually touching it. "Hmph. How about I escort you to our doctor, hm? He'll patch you up. He'd beat me with a cane if he found out I let someone walk around injured without telling him." Rising, he dusted off his hands and inquired, "Where are you from, miss..?"

Ryuk waves at Acqua and Charanth from affar with a huge roasted chicken leg in his mouth. Holding up a plate of different foods, he points down to it and looks at Acqua signing if she wanted some.

Acqua cringes, silently wondering for the millionth time why her parents gave her a name that screams water elemental. "I'm Acqua," she replies. "And, nowhere really. I don't exactly have a home, I just wander..."

Mal tilted his head slightly to hear the music more clearly, tapping his toe to the rythym, and swung into the dance, seeming to glide over the ground as he guided Charminei through the steps, a joyous smile transforming his face into a young man's again.

It was as if he had never been blinded, the years melting away from him.

Amelia rested her head against Jeo's chest, watching her brother for a moment. "Look at that," she whispered. "I wish there was a way he could dance more often, if it makes him so happy."

"We'll think of something," Jeo promised, giving her a hug.

Charminei wouldn't be able to pick up the dance in one go, but she did a good job of keeping herself from stumbling at places. She let herself be whisked around by Malcamon, restricting her steps to just the tips of her feet and leaping a little to get back into the swing whenever she mistepped. Still, she was having the time of her life at this. "My word, you're so good at this!"

Charanth hesitated at the name - a water type for sure then. Malcamon's nose was incredible. Still, the girl was hurt, and there was only one of her then. He checked her hands - not seeing a water sign on them, he was rest assured that she couldn't easily drown anyone with a touch. "Can you walk or shall I carry you then?"

Acqua hesitates, considering. Her leg hurts, to the point where she's not sure she dares put weight on it... But at the same time, she sure as all hell doesn't want to risk this man bringing his sign in contact with hers and her water sign is only barely covered by the shirt she's wearing. She's already had to tug on the cloth to cover it a few times today. "I don't know if I can walk," she admits uncertainly. "But I don't know... Where's your sign? Mine's on my left shoulder and this shirt isn't too good at covering it..."

Malcamon chuckled. "I must admit, I was very much sought after as a dance partner when I was younger," he said conversationally. "I suppose that's where Alexian gets it from." He sighed a little, caught in memory for a few moments before coming back to himself. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything," he apologized, paying more attention to his footing.

"I like hearing stories like that," Charminei urges. "But if you don't want to tell them, that's another matter entirely. You'll always find me a willing listener though, Uncle." Forces it felt good to have an Uncle at all now!

Charanth points to the sign on his bicep. He feels a little better by Acqua's concern as well. "No worries, I'll carry you bridal style and we'll be fine. Would that suffice?"

"That sounds like the best idea," agrees Acqua, though she blushes uncomfortably at needing to be carried. It stings at her pride when Amaro does it and he never gives her a choice. Acqua swiftly jerks her throughts away from her family, a hint of loneliness crossing her expression for a split second.

Charanth smiles at her kindly; he wouldn't be able to carry his sister around anymore, but he thinks he can handle Acqua. She's small enough. With a breath, he scoops her up, carefully, and carries her towards Morphis's tent. Though the good doctor might not actually be there, he'd spot them heading that way. Sure enough, once they were inside and Charanth was settling Acqua down on the bed, Morphis was there too.

"What do we have here?" Morphis inquired, looking Acqua over. "Hello young lady; my name is Morphis."

"It's her leg," Charanth explains. Morphis frowns, looking at the injured leg.

"Oh dear," he murmurs. "I don't like the looks of this. Charanth, you go back out to the party. I'll be busy in here." Charanth nods, leaving, as Morphis moves around and grabs some necessary items. "How did you hurt your leg?"

"Stupidity, mostly," Acqua admits. She's still hurt and angry, but she's starting to at least admit that running off when she knew she was meant to be resting after her injury wasn't the smartest of moves. Taking a deep breath, Acqua slowly tells Morphis the whole story, finishing with, "I guess I wasn't thinking to well. I just had to get away before I strangled them both."

"Thank you, Charminei," Mal told her, closing his eyes briefly as the song ended. "I suppose I should return you to your husband now?"

Morphis works as she talks, laying creams and herbs onto bandages, which he wraps around the leg. Next, he creates some splints for it, and ties those on carefully. "Indeed, that wouldn't have been good, but you certainly ran far away," Morphis pointed out. "Wouldn't it have been prudent to go to, say, a nearby town instead?"

"I did promise the next dance with him," Charminei giggled. "But how about I alternate between the two of you for a while? Mind, after the Rain Dance, I'll be too tired to do much more, but I'd be happy to take you on as a partner until then."
