Avani walked through town, very deliberately taking the most crowded streets to attract attention. If anyone were to try to speak with her she would just motion for them to follow... she wanted to just get this all done with. Once arriving at the senate chambers she moves straight to her speech pulpit, took a deep breath and let her heart move through her voice.
"My people, the question you must first be asking is how the war effort went. It was total victory for the elementals, I stand before you representing our victorous peoples!"
She allowed the cheers to rise and die down before continuing, they deserved to be proud of their sons and daughters, sisters and brothers at least.
"I also come to you personally defeated. I realize now that while I may possess the mind you all claim I have I possess nothing else. I am cowardly, mistake ridden, and emotionally weak, all characteristics a great people should not be able to attribute to their leader. Before entering the city I had my symbol removed by the great one, and this is my official resognation. You people deserve a leader you are proud of, and I am not her. I love you all, for trusting me, but I no longer trust myself. Farewell my people, maybe one day in the future I shall return but until that moment... I ask your forgiveness."
She stepped down then without a word, and walked towards the senate chambers so she could use the caves and not be forced to walk past the crowd. It seems no matter how deep she fled she could still hear the cries from her supportors. She blocked them out, knowing that this all was for the best, right now she had to make her own life. She can no longer hold them all in her hands.
