[Kender Bard]

Caroke leads the way back to the monestary, glancing back at Tatsu now and then to make sure she's keeping up okay. By the time they reach the outer gates of the monks' home, an older man is waiting, seemingly, for them.

"Master Sendier," Caroke says in surprise, remembering to clasp his hands and bow. "What are you doing out here?"

Master Sendier blinks at him, as if he was surprised and said, "Didn't you know? The Grand Master of Erreserod has offered to take in some of the orphans that you and Tatsu brought back."

[tatsu]

(( Sorry, I've been really busy lately and had no time to reply! ))

Tatsu smiled in reaction to this pleasant surprised. She was as confused and taken aback as Caroke was, but in no way disappointed.

“That’s wonderful!” She chuckled, turning to Caroke with amazed disbelief.

"Indeed it is," he said with a bit of almost numb shock. "And why are you waiting for us then? We didn't bring any with us."

"Oh I know," Master Sendier said. "I'm here to make sure that as soon as any immediate needs are taken care of, you go speak with the Grand Master."

Caroke, despite his training, couldn't help but pale and gulp at that, then bow again.

Tatsu frowned at Caroke’s reaction, bowing timidly herself.

“What’s wrong?” She muttered quietly in concern. Surely the Grand Master stood for someone of great prestige, but Tatsu found no real excuse for fearing a person of higher rank, no matter how much of an influence they might have. She felt somewhat naïve, for she had not been a part of the Eresserod community for long, and for all she knew her assumption of the situation could be entirely wrong.

Caroke blushes, motioning for her to follow as he heads back inside. "It's silly, but I've never met the Grand Master before in person. I've seen him from afar, but it's not the same. He's the leader of us all here, and I'm just nervous about meeting him. I don't want to give a bad impression."

[tatsu]

Tatsu followed Caroke quickly inside and nodded sympathetically, although she hadn’t met him either, she wasn’t all that concerned about impressions more than what he was coming for.

“But…why would the Grand Master offer to take orphans?” She asked confusedly.

Smiling a little, Caroke says, "Perhaps because Talen'sul has no orphanage. Usually families are happy to snap up the little ones, but this is a lot of orphans all at once. They have to go somewhere when there's not enough willing people to take them in, and really, the Monestary is a good idea. They'll get food and shelter, and be taught basic knowledge. Some of them might stay as members."

[tatsu]

Tatsu nodded. “Ah, I see.” She said clearly. Feeling slightly wearied from the trip, Tatsu can’t help but feel proud even though she had not played an immense role in freeing the slaves.

“It’s nice to see that that because of our actions the orphans will now be able to have the option of having a home!” She said happily. “Will you speak with the Grand Master now?” Even if she weren’t allowed, Tatsu would accompany him in spirit at least.

"Aye," Caroke says sighing. "You can come with, if you like, but if you are as tired as I am, I would not blame you for heading straight to your quarters and sleeping."
