Trouble on the horizon?|Raynham, Reave

Ashra hurries into Reave with Aivea and Ann, tired but concerned. "Is Elder Charanth around?" she calls to the general population. "Or Honored Leader Damien?" Slightly frantically, she looks for either of the men she mentioned.

[aivea]

Aivea continues to carry Ann, though his arms are getting somewhat sore and he is tired as well. The former Ice type does his best to help Ashra search despite that.

[Kender Bard]

One of the citizens looks a little confused but nods, pointing to the hut that Charanth had set up almost single-handedly and called his own. "Aye, he's in there and so 's Sir Damien."

"Thank you," Ashra tells the citizen, then hurries to the hut. "Elder Charanth! Honored Leader!" Damien looks up in concern, then a touch of fear as he sees Ashra.

"Ashra? What is wrong? I thought you were going to Ilyamen?" he asks, then adds, "Is my niece all right?"

"Ann is fine, Honored Leader," Ashra replies. "But my companion and I saw something strange while we were traveling. There is a large amount of smoke in the air over Clan Char, more then could be made by the campfires."

[Kender Bard]

"What do you think it could be?" Charanth inquired, furrowing his brow. He'd been sitting - conserving some of his flagging strength - but stood in alarm now.

[Northen Light36]

"I don't know," admits Ashra. "I just thought you should know."

"And we both thank you for telling us," replies Damien. Reconising the dismissal for what it is, Ashra bows slightly and leaves. Damien, though his gaze is blocked by the walls of the hut, looks towards Clan Char. "Your clan has made enemies in the past and homes can easily burn in an attack," he comments. "It may be nothing, an accident perhaps, but I think we should probably investigate this, Charanth."

[Kender Bard]

"Indeed," Charanth agrees, looking for his spear that he'd take with him while traveling. Taking a few steps, though, costs him more energy than he has and he stumbles to his knees with a cough. "Damnation," he seethes through his teeth, pulling himself back up.

Damien frowns and hurries over to support Charanth. "Charanth, you need rest," he tells him. "I'll go on my own while you stay here and get your strength back." Damien looks at Charanth, hoping his friend will agree.

[Kender Bard]

Charanth wants desperately to disagree but his good sense knows better. Reluctantly, he nods, sitting down. "Very well, but I'm going to set out at an easier pace after you leave. I should at least show up."

"I know better then to try and stop you," sighes Damien. "Don't push yourself Charanth. Everything will be fine and you'll do no one any good by killing yourself." He looks seriously at Charanth and waits for his friend to agree.

[Kender Bard]

"Fine," Charanth says, starting to slump in his chair slightly. "Go on though, quickly now."

[Northen Light36]

"Get some rest Charanth," orders Damien before picking up his pack and heading back towards Narurod and Clan Char.
