[Northen Light36]

Flash snaps his head up, breaking his meditation. The tugging at the back of his mind has become an undeniable pull and one thought stands out above all others as his water marking starts to itch to the point of almost burning. "Saph," murmurs Flash, getting up and hurrying to Cascata's room before knocking hastily on the door. As much as he hates to wake her, he owes it to her to tell her he's leaving and he simply can't wait another minute to go.

Cascata opens the door, looking considerably more refreshed. Behind her, a young man stands, arms crossed and looking calm and easy and relaxed. As to how he got into her room - an open door reveals that answer.

"Two suitors, m'lady?" the man calls out playfully. "You tease! I thought you were a one man woman."

Cascata gives a delighted laugh, opening the door a bit farther as she says, "Snickers, you are the tease. Flash, what is it? You look quite worried."

Flash blinks in suprise at the sight of Snickers, but he dismisses the man a second later. Right now only one thing matters and that's Saph. "I'm afraid I need to leave, Cascata. My brother... I think he may need me," he tells the water leader hurriedly.

Now concerned as well, on the deeper level than she realizes, Cascata says, "What's wrong? Where are you going to go? Is it dangerous?"

Feeling the solemness of the conversation, Snickers frowns and remains quiet, listening.

Flash squims, both out of embrassment that he can't really answer Cascata's questions and restlessness. "I don't know," he admits. "But Saph and I have brought our water signs together so often it's formed a strong bond between us... And right now I can't stop thinking of him and my water sign is itching like crazy. I'm assuming Saph's in Talen'sul, at least, that's were I'll start looking. It's where he lives, so hopefully if he's not there his wife will know where he is." Flash squirms more and rubs his sign. "I've never felt our bond this strongly before... I don't know if it's just a result of the last time Saph and I brought our signs together or if he's in real danger, but I can't rest until I know what's happened."

"Very well," Cascata says, giving Flash a hug. "Please be careful."

"I need to head to Talen'sul anyway," Snickers speaks up. "If you don't mind, we could go together. It's always better to travel in pairs, even during peacetimes."

Flash returns the hug and replies, "I'll be as careful as I can be," before he looks over at Snickers and hesitates. "How soon can you be ready to leave?" he askes after a moment.

"I haven't unpacked yet, so I can leave right now," Snickers says, a mite cheerfully.

Flash smiles slightly at that. "Well in that case, company would be nice... Although I'd hate to steal you away from the pleasure of Cascata's company," he replies.

Snickers heaves a dramatic sigh saying, "Quite pleasurable it is indeed." He boldly peers at Cascata in mock lewdness, causing her to laugh again.

"Oh go, you tease," Cascata says happily. "Maybe you can keep Flash from worrying himself to death."

"As you wish, m'lady," Snickers says sweetly, grabbing his things.

Flash smiles, if weakly, at the display between the two. "Goodbye Cascata. I'll see you as soon as I can," he tells her, politely but hurriedly, before starting to hurry down to the beach. "What I wouldn't give for Thunderstrike's help right now," he mutters.

Snickers hurries after, hot on his heels, saying, "Hey, with the two of us, we can swim the length of the River without any trouble really. If one of us gets tired, we can bum a ride off the other."

Flash nods in agreement, before diving into the river and heading for the area of shore on the other side that's closest to Talen'sul. "If anything's happened to him, I'll never forgive myself for leaving him," he murmurs worriedly, more to himself then Snickers.

"Must be some bond if you can fret yourself to death like that," Snickers comments while swimming to keep up with Flash. "I envy you. My sibs and I were never close, let alone THAT close. What's it like?"

Flash is silent for a long moment, trying to think of how to describe something that's as natural as breathing to him. "It's... safe I guess," he says at last. "Even when everything seems to be going wrong, like it was in the war, Saph's the one thing I know I can count on."

Flash smiles softly at that before sighing and adding, "My dad uped and left one night when I was five, then Mum packed us up and moved us back to her home, Ronduin." Flash shakes his head. "I swore up and down that dad would come back and hated her for moving us somewhere he wouldn't be able to find us. I think we spent more time screaming at each other then we did anything else. I didn't fit in with the other kids either, it made them nervous when I played with my Storm abilities I guess. So I ended up an outcast both inside my home and outside, but everytime I turned around, there's my four year old brother telling me not to be sad or wanting to show me his latest find on the beach. And it stayed until he was 14 and I was 15." Flash smiles at his memories. "That's when I decided to run away. I didn't ask him to come, didn't even tell him when I was going, but when I reached the bottom of the garden path, he was waiting for me. And he's been my support ever since - The one thing in life that I know won't ever go away."
