[Northen Light36]

Early the next morning, Flash leads Snickers into Talen'sul and heads straight for Saph and Laura's house. If his fears about Saph's safety prove false Flash is aware he's going to look like a over-protective fool, but in all honesty he'd rather be the butt of Saph's jokes for the next week or so then find out the sinking feeling in his stumach has a reason to be there. With a deep breath, he knocks on the door.

Laura opens the door, looking rather tired. She perks up at seeing Flash though. "Flash! It's good to see you." Smiling, she throws her arms around her brother-in-law and gives him a big hug, then glances at Snickers. "Who's your friend?"

"Just a road companion," Snickers says. "My name is Hachi, but please, call me Snickers."

"Nice to meet you Snickers," Laura says politely, shaking his hand.

Flash gives Laura an equally tired smile, but doesn't waste any time with other greetings. "Laura, is Saph here?"

Laura blinks and shakes her head. "No, Saph left with Tuono for Sparkstrike to make preparations for the upcoming wedding. Why?"

Flash pales drastically at Laura's words and looks like he'd like to be sick. "Saph's in Maelstrom?" he asks then shakes his head. "I am going to kill him, I swear it." Taking a deep breath he looks at Laura and says, "Let me guess, he left a day or so ago? Laura, I hate to say this but... I think Saph may be in trouble."

Laura's eyes widened and she said, simply, "I need only five minutes and I can be ready to go."

"I hate to say this, but Maelstrom is no place for a lady, ma'am," Snickers says rather apologetically. "And your husband wouldn't want to see you killed over him."

"But-" Laura protests, but then figures that it would be in vain. Frowning, she says, "At least let me go tell Lord Shadow and m'lady."

Flash nods in agreement. "That might be a good idea, Laura," he replies, one hand clentched in a fist. "I'm not sure I'd be able to keep from hitting my lord if I saw him right now... How could he be so stupid as to send Saph to Maelstrom of all places." Looking at his sister-in-law, Flash gives her a reassuring hug and comments, "I'll bring him home safely, Laura. Then we can team up to lecture Saph for being foolish."

[Kender Bard]

"Don't blame your lord too hard," Laura admonishes, returning the hug. "Sparkstrike is supposed to be very safe and wind-water friendly. If something has happened, none of us could have foreseen it. Please be careful..." With a weak smile, Laura hurries off back to Lya's home to speak with her and Shadow.

Snickers tilts his head thoughtfully before saying, "Shall we go off then?"

Flash looks at him questioningly. "Are you sure you want to come along? This is probably going to be dangerous," he reminds the other water.

[Kender Bard]

"I can provide a distraction," Snickers offers. "You're likely to need it if you want any kind of surprise, or time to sneak around."

Flash looks uncertain, but he knows Snickers is right. "Just be very carefully," he warns him before adding with a grin, "We wouldn't want to disappoint Cascata by returning you to her in peices. Come on, let's get moving." As he heads towards the boarder and Sparkstrike Flash thinks, "Hold on little brother. I'm almost there."

Snickers smiles and nods, and hurries off after Flash.
