Munching on Mangoes...|Mount Humontis

Quynh looked at the ground rushing past her, this was a truly beautiful place! The bat type closed her eyes for a moment and relished the cool air blowing across her muzzle.When she opened them again, she spied a large tree in the field and angled her leathery wings to descend. At the tree, she back-drafted once or twice before sinking her claws into the bark.

She swung up-side down and gratefully took off her heavy mail bag and hung it on a branch. Quynh reached into one of the pockets and pulled out a ripe mango. She settled down and took a good look around, taking in the scenery before sinking her fangs into the fruit. The messenger munched on thoughtfully for a while, she was ahead of schedule, she could afford a small break.

Off in the distance there was a soft sound... one that grew until the point that one could recognize what it was that was causing the noise. It was the laughter of two children running through the fields, a small earth boy and girl, both having a plant affinity. They continued to weave through the trees until they noticed the beast type hanging from a certain tree. Because they live so close to the beastlands they weren't startled to see a beast type... and being curious children they ignored their parents warning to be careful due to the three types of tribes. The little girl took to a simple wave while the boy ventured to speak.

"Hello there lady, how are you doing?"

He looked towards her with her innocent eyes while his sister timidly hides behind him.

Qyunh looked up. Her extremely flexible spine allowed her to bend back her head so that her eyes were level with the children's. She smiled "I'm very good, thank you. And yourself?"

The boy smiled when he was greeted so pleasently by the bat affinity. The little girl still didn't surrender her perch of hiding behind her brother.

"I am well, me and my sister are going to the family farming land to help with the harvest before winter comes. Well we were going until we started playing and ended up here. What are you doing kind lady?"

He continues to look up to her with curious eyes while the girl started inching herself out from behind, gaining more confidence by the minute.

Quynh stuck a thumb towards her bag, "I'm delivering a package to Obsidian. I'm taking a small rest right now though, I've been flying hard today."
She swung right-side up and droped to the ground. The fruit bat regained balance and scratched her chin with her fore claw, "Say, you wouldn't know where I could find Taini Ilandere? This package is for her." She held her wings up awkwardly, she wasn't exactly graceful on terra firma.

The boy thought for a moment, he tried to run through all the names he knew... if she was one of the soil types though he would have no clue. But then his sister came from behind him and began to speak. She spoke in a very weak voice due to the fact that she didn't wish to draw attention still.

"I am not sure but I think she is one of the leaders in the big building on top. Miss Avani lets everyone in so go ahead and ask for whoever you are looking for and they should be able to find her for you."

The boy nodded in agreement, knowing that that was probably the best way to find anyone in the Humontis area was to go to the senate chambers.

Quynh was able to hear the child with ease, her sensitive ears picking up every word.
Smiling gratefully, she said, "Thank you, little girl. It is a rather good idea, I should have thought about that sooner...",she screwed up her face, it really should have come to her earlier.

The beast elemental leaned forward and cocked her head, "You two are plant types, if I am not mistaking? Your people seem to grow the finest mangoes--W-Whoa!", By leaning forward, she threw off her balance. Quynh wobbled for an instant, then fell square on her backside. She sighed and murmured to herself, "Clumsy Quynh strikes again...", The bat looked up at the children with a meek smile.

Chast had walked all day long, and now he was feeling a little tired. Well, he could take a break; it wasn’t like if he didn’t have the time! And, he had to admit, he was totally lost. When we want to see everything, it’s normal to get lost on the first path we choose. He drew himself up to his full height and saw some fruits trees on the horizon. Luck was with him, because it looked like some people were there. Chast walked toward the three of them. He was surprised to see the Bat affinity girl, she looked so strange! He had many questions to ask, but decided to keep them to himself. With a friendly face, he lifted his paw in a sign of greeting.

“Hello friends! Can any of you tell me the road to Obsidian? I’m… well… a bit lost.”

Quynh whirled around, startled and a little embarrassed to find another beast type. As he came toward them, she got up and stood in front of the children protectively, there was no way of knowing which clan he was from and was weary, but not impolite.

"Hello there!",she called out shyly, "I-I hope you don't mind stating your clan by any chance?"

Chast looked at her, surprised, and laughed. She wasn't funny or anything like this. In fact, he understood her. He heard about the other clans, and it was normal to ask. He was more laughing with nervosity that anything else.

"Don't fear me, I'm from Seere. I won't hurt you!"

Quynh visibly sagged with relief, "Oh! Well, hello! My name's Quynh Aysel of clan Seere. I'm heading to Obisidan soon, you can stick with me if you like.", she said in her usual cheerful voice. The bat stepped back a little.

Chast looked surprised again. She was from Seere? Why didn't he recognized her? But when he thought about it... Maybe he saw her a few times. He listened to her, and her suggestion was tempting. Well, she looked nice and cheerful, exactly the kind of person Chast liked to travel with. She was offering it so nicely..

"And I'm Chast, Chast Kierne! Well, I've to admit, I wouldn't mind having a travel companion, if it's not too much to ask!"

The two children gave an innocent giggle when the beast type tripped. Then they both looked up and smiled to her... the girl had lost her nervous stance from before. The boy did resume his role as speaker though.

"We are more in tune with plants... and thank you, although we do not grow Mangoes ourselves we are sure the Brittanicus family would love to hear the compliment."

They saw the new beast type approach and greeted him with a wave. They smiled and the boy continued speaking.

"Wow, there is a lot of interest in Obsidian... that is weird because a lot of men and women left from there today. Oh well, hope you have fun at Humontis!"

Quynh smiled at the children. "I'll be sure to let the Brittanicus know."
Despite her clumsiness on the ground, the bat type nimbly climbed up the tree to fetch her bag and glided back to earth using her wings like a parachute. Once re-stabilized, she looked down on the young plant types, "What do you mean, lots of people left?", as a messenger, she was privy to all kinds of news and rumors, she thought it strange that she hasn't heard of this before. Either way, she thought, it would be useless to go to Obsidian if my client wasn't there..

The Beast Elemental looked strangely to the children. He scratched his head with his paw s if that news had disturbed his plans or something likely.

"A lots of people left? For where, and why?"

This was a very interesting and worrying news. People just don't left in massive group for no reason. Maybe war? He heard rumors about it, but didn't think it was true. This is really weird, he tought for himself.
