Zephyr didn't even have a city wall, so carefree were the people here. It was a newer city, created from the spillover of Talen'sul's heart, and filled with enthusiastic 'pioneers' some of whom haven't been out of the mountains their whole life. Being this close to the ground was a new thrill for them. Most of the population were young folk, adults not yet seasoned with the wisdom of experience, and the couple families that felt like making a new start somewhere.
No wonder the Clear army tore through them like wet parchment!
Relentlessly, the Ice types went through and begin eliminating any threats, grasping people with their freezing touch and coating signs in ice, rendering them useless for the moment. These warriors fought with an odd tenacity, for not all were dominated by the Clear types - some retained their free will, and fought on with only the sheer pleasure of furthering a cause that would only benefit their people in the end.
Where the Ice types would not do, the rest of the slaves rushed in to fill the gaps in the offense. The Clears weren't stupid either. They went in behind the safety of their slaves, then swooped down on any veteran citizen to snatch into their ranks. The younger populace, unsure of their abilities, fell quickly.
The Clears didn't feel like going through and enslaving everyone though - that would take time and effort. For now, they would need to dig in a good defense for the counter that surely (or so they assumed) would come from the home city of Talen'sul. Using the bulk of their army, the whole of the free populace were rounded up and stuck into a central building. Apparently there would be a 'selection' process later. What would come of those not chosen is unclear now, but everyone has their suspicions...
