Nuo watched Kaylin for a moment, and then turned and walked away, back to the tree he'd been sitting under the day before when he'd realised his sign was gone. He sighed and sat down at the base of the tree.
He just didn't understand her. If things were bad with Septi, well, she wasn't Septi's feyling anymore. Why did she want to leave? It wasn't as though there was a lot waiting for her in Acoia besides a dull temple and an ill-tempered feyling that probably didn't want to see her again. But he couldn't make her be happy, and if she wasn't, what was the point in her being there? And it wasn't as though there were any rules about letting a feyling go.
So she could go, and he could have all the time in the world to work at making elixirs and doing whatever else he wanted, without having to teach a feyling. Really, he wasn't sure why the others wanted feylings, why Nua had wanted to claim two. Well, he didn't really want one, so he would let Kaylin go. But there was still the issue of clothing.
He wrinkled his nose at the thought. He didn't want to end up in debt to someone, debt for something that wouldn't even benefit him. It wasn't as though he had much to offer in trade but a favour, and a favour could be anything. He looked down at the clothes he still wore and raised a brow. He didn't much like the thought of going completely nude, but he still had smallclothes, so he wouldn't be.
That would take care of that, Nuo decided and closed his eyes. She could take his clothes, he wouldn't be in debt, and she could leave.
