[Devon]

Romi and Rem were in the market square one evening where Romi was finally going to unveil a grand idea he had come up with while they were in the bardic college with Uriel. Pulling his twin brother aside Romi smiled broadly. "all right, so we want to take classes, but we don't have the money and if we got jobs we wouldn't have the time to go to the classes we were trying to pay for right," Romi said to Rem.

Rem nodded slowly since that did make sense to him. "Then what is your plan?" Romi's smile grew even bigger, "We steal my dear brother we steal," he answered. Rem was shocked that his brother suggested this. "Steal!? You want us to become thieves so we can be bards..are you daft?"

Romi shook his head and in turn replied, "Hey we already live outside of the rules anyway, we took ourselves a home in Elysium and all the stuff we did to get by before we got here was technically stealing. So whats a few more coins going to mean? It's easy watch this!"

Romi didn't wait for Rem to explain instead the older of the twins, by just a minute, took off running into the crowd. He had spotted someone earlier that looked like they had quite a heavy pouch. So the boy laughed out loud and ran through the streets as if he were playing tag. Romi bumped into the man nearly knocking him over, during the exchange Romi grabbed hold of the man's pouch and made off with it. "Sorry mister. You can't catch me Rem!" Rem sighed and shook his head, "Brilliant," he murmured as he chased after his twin to add credibility to his story.

Skif, sitting on a barel nearby and eatting a still hot buttered roll he'd begged off the guild cook, looked up at the sound of the sudden outburst of laughter. Spotting Romi and Rem, Skif was about to turn his attention back to his lunch when his sharp eyes caught sight of Romi snatching the man's coin purse.

A smash and grab then. Crude, the moment the guy noticed his pouch was gone he'd know who to blame, but effective. After a second of thought, Skif slid off his barrel and began to casually follow the twins, wanting to see what they did next.

[Devon]

The boys ran until they were a good distance away from the market square. Ducking into an alley, both boys took their time to catch their breath. Romi was smiling while Rem frowned at his twin. "I can't believe you did that Romi," Rem said in between breaths.

"What? It was kind of fun and you know it," Romi replied.

"We could get into big trouble," Rem said as he shook his head at his twin. Romi sat down on the ground and looked through the purse he had snatched.

"But this is such a great start right here Rem, we could definitely pay for some classes now."

"Classes in what?" Skif asks casually, leaning against one of the walls at the alley mouth. "Then again, I guess it doesn't matter. You keep trying clumbsy smash and grabs like that and you'll be caught in a couple of days." Skif smirked, visibly amused by the pair. "Or didn't it occur to you, twins stand out. Even in Talen'sul."

[Devon]

Romi quickly hid their bounty and stood to his feet defensively. Rem looked at the sudden guest and narrowed his eyes. "Who the heck are you?" Romi asked.

Rem agreed with his brother's question but instead said, "This isn't any of your business."

Skif snorted. "Like hell it isn't," he replied. "You start getting people hot and bothered about thief kids in Talen'sul and you cause trouble for all of us. Look, I don't really give a damn why you're stealing, only that you two learn some subtly or go somewhere else." Glancing over his shoulder to make sure there was no one around to hear, Skif adds, "Besides, this is a Guild city and we don't like trespassers on our turf."

[Devon]

Rem quickly punched Romi in the arm. "See what you've done, now we're in trouble with the guild. You heard what Uriel said about guild rules with just the bards. Imagine a guild with a bunch of thieves..some big guy really will rough us up."

Romi said nothing, but rubbed his arm and sneered at his twin.

Skif resisted the urge to laugh and instead tried to look menacing. "So are you going to stop this or not?" he demanded, crossing his arms over his chest. "If you're not, then I'll have to do something about it before you get yourselves caught."

[Devon]

Romi and Rem stood side by side and defiantly looked at Skif. In unison they said, "We aren't going to be bullied. What are you going to do if we don't stop stealing?"

Skif does look amused at this. Even two on one he's fairly confident that he could take out the twins. "Well there are two options. You tell me why you're so desperate to steal and I'll see if anyone in the guild is willing to teach a couple of rookies. Otherwise, well, we'll just have to take care of the problem you're causing the hard way."

[Devon]

Romi stepped forward and spoke up for the twins. "We want to go to the bardic college and we don't have enough coin to do so. I thought if we could steal the coin we'd be able to support ourselves so I talked Rem into it."

Skif chuckles. "Well you've got guts, kids," he replies, amused. "I like that. Keep your heads down for a day or two and maybe you'll get some help. Deal?"

[Devon]

Romi and Rem looked to each other and blinked. They were pretty confused by the guy they met, but they weren't going to get in trouble it seemed so they'd just have to agree. "all right," Romi said.

"What kind of help are you talking about?" Rem asked.

Skif just smirked and replied, "You'll know it when you see it." With that, he hurried off to make his way down into the guild where he could talk to Mat and Acqua.

Two days later, late one evening, two men were strolling calmly through the city, apparently heading for one of the city's taverns after work. In actual fact, their work was about to begin and they were searching for the twins.

[Devon]

The twins had been laying low like Skif suggested they should. They were currently in the marketplace sitting around a fountain they had taken a liking too. Taking a break from a rigorous game they had just finished. Romi looked to Rem as it was getting darker and said, "Its getting late, are you ready to go back home?"

Rem shook his head. "Just a few more minutes and we can go. I'm still catching my breath from beating you so bad," he replied as he grinned at his twin brother.
