Kyth and Bith lay stretched out on the grass staring up at the cloudy sky. Larc lay next to Kyth sleeping while Valira paced back and forth in a protective way. Bith finally spoke up, "This is so boring. We need to go do something." Kyth agreed but shook his head, "You know the rules Bith. We can't go back until noon. This is what guard duty is. Duh."

Bith elbowed his brother, "I'm not stupid Kyth. I'm just tired of sitting here and doing nothing." Valira called out to Bith, "There is someone coming."

[Kender Bard]

Flora was walking around. She'd slipped out early in the morning, eluding the guards posted. There wasn't any reason for it, other than the thrill of besting the guards. That had been the purpose of leaving, though she spent a long, lazy day out hunting for a partner for herself. The cat-affinity flicked her ear in annoyance at the thought; she'd found nobody that really suited her. This was getting depressing.

So caught up in her thoughts, Flora didn't even stop to check for a change of guards and she wandered right into their midsts, head in the clouds.

Bith jumped to his feet and Kyth soon followed. Larc just lifted his lazy head and looked at the girl before saying to Kyth, "Well it seems someone finally came." Valira moved around to the outside and into a crouching position. "Who goes there," demanded Bith?

Kyth shook his head, "Oh yeah now you sound just like a soldier. Psshh..." Bith turned on his brother, "... and what is that supposed to mean?" Kyth ignored Bith and said to the girl, "Your not supposed to be out here you know."

[Kender Bard]

Flora started at their voices, and gave her head a shake to bring her back to reality. She frowned, and had a scorching reply on her tongue when she noticed the tigers. That drove the reprimand out of her, and she gave a little squeal of delight. ~Why, aren't you two the prettiest looking tigers I've seen in a while?~ She ached to give them a petting, but figured that it'd be better to wait on invite for that.

Addressing their Beast partners, she remarked, "I'm just out looking for a partner of my own. You might want to chew the ears of the set that had the morning watch; I snuck by them with ease."

Kyth and Bith shared confused looks. Bith asked, "Hunting for a partner? Why don't you already have one?" Kyth and Bith had met up with their tiger partners when they were children so they originally thought that worked out the same way for everyone.

Larc sniffed the air and rose to a sitting position. He lazily rubbed his head against Kyth's leg, "Don't fear her. She may have snuck past the other guards but I sense we can trust her." Kyth looked at Larc and then gave a gentle pat on the head as he waited for the girl to answer.

[Kender Bard]

Flora gave a nonchalant shrug, but her burning red cheeks betrayed her shame. "I dunno," she mumbled. "I just never found anyone that suited me... my big sister, Fauna, has a bobcat she met when she was really little. And my father even has his panther... I guess I'm just the oddball in the family, huh?" She smiled, a bit awkwardly, and tried to curtail the resentment that burned in her as she thought of her sister. Stupid Fauna loved flowers and plants more than animals. Why does she get one and I'm still making these forays?

Kyth smiled at her and stepped forward, away from his brother. "Well in a bit we will be replaced with new guards. So why not let us help you search for your partner?" Bith nodded, "Yeah it will be better than sitting here and doing nothing. Valira you can come here now."

The tigress walked forward past the girl. She circled Bith protectively before sitting down beside him. Valira always treated Bith like he was her cub so it was understanable why she acted like she did. Even Larc never overstepped his bounds when it came to Valira and Bith.

[Kender Bard]

"You would?" Flora asked, incredulous. She became more alert and pleased looking. "That'd be great! Though, I warn you, I haven't had any success as of late." She realized she'd neglected to introduce herself. Smiling, she put in, "My name's Flora. My parents had a quirky sense of humor..."

Kyth was still smiling, "Yeah we will help you. My name is Kyth and my brother over there is Bith. The lazy tiger over there who seems to think your kind of cool is Larc and the overprotective one is Valira. A word of advise. What ever you do don't lay a hand on Bith or threaten him."

[Kender Bard]

Flora raised a brow and shrugged. "Well, all right, not that I had any intentions on it. I might have a Poldoran streak but I'm not the type to lash out for no reason. Or without invitation." She flashed a fanged smile at that as she remembered the last time she had a nice rough and tumble spar. It'd been too long. Ah, well, another time. "Any idea on where we should look? The immediate area is pretty fruitless."

Bith grinned mischeviously, "There is always the lands forbidden to us." Kyth turned on his brother, "Are you crazy? There are all kinds of nameless things that could happen to us out there. Larc help me out here." Larc scratched his ear, "I'm with you. Whatever you decide I'll stand by you." Valira said nothing but waited patiently. Normally she would have reprimanded Bith for such a dangerous idea.

[Kender Bard]

"What are you talking about?" Flora asked warily. "Where's the forbidden lands?" Despite her tough nature, she was actually rather sheltered. She didn't know much about life beyond Seere, and the territory they hold, as well as the fairly neutral areas on the fringes of the lands.

Kyth spoke before his brother and his tone was rather edgy, "A place we are not going to go. As members of this village there are places restricted to us by the laws. We will not go to the forbidden lands Bith. That is final." Bith rolled his eyes, "Kyth relax. We won't go okay." He was trying to hide the lie that came from him. Larc moaned, "Kyth I am sure Valira will not let Bith go. So calm down."

[Kender Bard]

Flora's ears flattened a little and her hair was starting to bristle. "Where are the forbidden lands?" She tried to smooth her hair down. "I mean, not that I'm going to go... But I'm curious, you know?"

Kyth turned around to look at the girl, "Just forget he mentioned anything. Lands outside of our territory are forbidden for a reason so just forget it okay." Bith was making motions behind his brother. He was trying to signal to the girl that they needed to meet later and he would show her.
