Ann nods, grinning up at Charminei and too pleased to even complain about her hair getting messed up. "I think so," she tells Charminei, before running over to Charanth's hut.

Charminei followed at her own leisurely pace and peaked in. Charanth had decided now was a good time to doze as well, and had turned his chair to face a window. He sat, hands clasped, and eyes half shut, lost completely to whatever it was he was daydream. She almost didn't have the heart to bother the men.

Ann hesitates, then decides she really wants this and shakes Damien's arm. "Uncle Damien?" Damien stirs slowly, then rubs an eye and looks at Ann.

"What is it Ann?"

"Alexi's friend said he'd teach me other weapons if he was paid," Ann annouces. "I really, really want to learn." Damien sighes.

"You're too young still, Ann," he replies.

"I'm not sure if that's a wise decision to make," Charminei chimes in. Charanth shakes his head, coming out of reverie. "Consider it this way; she's good with a spear, right and fine, but everyone knows a spear is about as useful as parchment when it comes up to an opponent with an axe. What then? There might be another optional weapon at her disposal but she hasn't the faintest idea of how to use it." She puts her free hand on her hip. "Knowledge of how to protect oneself is never a bad thing."

"See?" Ann chimes in. "Please?" Damien looks amused.

"You two just like teaming up on me, don't you?" he comments, then shakes his head. "Charminei has a point, but we're going back to Fira tomorrow before Tres decides to send out a search party." Ann pouts at that and looks at Charminei for help.

"Take Ansrax with you...?" Charminei offered, though she didn't sound entirely sure about that. After all, she didn't like making decisions for someone without their approval. On the other hand, Ansrax didn't seem like he had much to do here, idling about.

"I can't win this can I?" sighes Damien, but there's amusement in his expression. "Very well, I'll talk to this Anseax and if he's willing to come to Fira, I'll pay him to teach you Ann."

"You're the best uncle Damien!" Ann annouces excitedly, hugging Damien. Then she runs over and hugs Charminei. "Thanks Charminei!"

Charminei laughs, hugging back. "No problem, kiddo! After all, I agreed with you."

Daimen sighes and gets up from his chair. "Well I should meet this man and see how he feels about coming to Fira," he comments. "Show me the way, Ann." Ann grins and bolts out the door, running back to Ansrax with Damien following at a calmer pace.

Ansrax was eating by then, chewing slowly and methodically. Alexi was standing near him, watching his clan with pride.

"Hey, Damien," the chronologically younger man greeted the other Elder. "Hungry? There's plenty for everyone."

Ansrax turned his head slightly to size up and nod to Damien. "I assume you are the young one's guardian."

Damien nods. "I could use a bite," he replies to Alexi before looking at Ansrax, sizing him up as much as Ansrax had sized him up. "Yes, I'm Ann's guardian."

The bounty hunter nodded. "I also assume she has spoken with you about extra training in weapons and defense."

"I knew it. You've gone soft, old man," Alexi chuckled, and found himself flat on his back a moment later with a foot on his chest. "OW! Damn it! I hate it when you do that!"

"I know."

Ann laughs at Alexi and Damien chuckles. "Yes, she has," he replies. "How much would you be asking for? And there's one other thing, Ann and I will be returning to our clan in the morning. Would you be prepared to come to clan Fira with us?"

"I would be willing. I have nowhere else to be, and my home in Ilyamen is taken care of," Ansrax replied, letting Alexi up. "But should my student call me, I would have to return to Char, temporarily. In the case of payment, I am willing to be lenient. Food supplements and shelter, and care for Belaria, my horse, would suffice."

Damien nods. "That's more then reasonable," he agrees. Ann grins happily, nearly shivering with excitement.

"This'll be fun!"
