Luna stiffened at his voice and slowly, very slowly, turned her head towards her father and Cloud. Tears filled her eyes, but she was wise enough not to cause an outburst. "Father..." she whispered. "You.. came?" "You bet we did," Cloud whispered back. "We came for you." Luna managed a smile and stood a little closer to them both. "How will we leave? Master said not to leave..."

Saph frowns, but the beginnings of a plan are already forming in his mind. "You just leave that to me sweetie," he tells her quietly. "I need you to keep being my brave girl a bit longer though, all right? We can't do anything in the daylight."

Many of the slaves start to press together in tighter clumps, hoping to keep each other warm. Cloud catches on and envelops Luna in his arms, pleased to have a chance to embrace her without looking out of place. Luna smiles and clings to her twin like a drowning man clings to a log.

Cloud grunted in dissatisfaction but didn't press any further. Once the other slaves realized there would be no food tonight, they fell into light slumber. A group of Ice types took the wagon of children and brought it into the city walls, while more ice types came out and took up watchful positions over the slaves, though it's obvious they don't expect much to occur.

After it starts to get darker and more difficult for the guards to see, Saph quietly takes Cloud aside. "Luna isn't going to be able to just leave with us thanks to the orders those damn Clears have given her. I hate to say this, but I think our best option is to knock her out, then carry her away from here as quickly as we can manage."
