Revamping The Fights for Plot

So after listening to what people have asked, asking around, and further research, it seems that the majority are having problems actually writing out the fight scenes. And considering that the finale of the plot is nothing but continuous fighting (as a war should be) this poses a considerable problem.
What happens, I've been told, is that a lack of ideas of what to post, or how to fight, or whatever sets in creating reluctance to actually post anything. This causes procrastination and then you have long gaps of no posting and the entire event starts to screech to a crawl or even a halt because even though everything is set up so that a person can post more or less as often as they want based off their own speed and needs, overall the progress has been slow and it's due to this.
So I'm willing to change up how things are set up. I won't lie, I did have a battle plan in mind that involved a lot more stuff but most of it is fighting and at the current rate, and with the current attitude towards writing fight scenes, that's going to mean we'll be at it for months. Is that okay with you guys? I don't know, we'll find out.
Right now my plan was 1-3 events per zone, followed by a huge slew of 'boss' battles and then the finale. We'd have to get through each event to progress to the next.
I can certainly shorten that. Or we can change the format of the battle. There's plenty of options so I want you guys to tell me what you feel you're most capable of handling.
For the option of changing things up, this is how I would do it:
The entire system as it is would be scrapped (sorry.) Current topics would be locked. People would make one thread that contained all their characters and it'd go down to a one-on-one basis. Separate threads would be made up for events. You can join other people's threads, but you can't have one character in more than one place. Events (either the same amount or shortened) would need to be closed to proceed. If people don't want to actually go through the slog of fighting one on one with their characters they can just throw them at the events. Or they can just assume their characters are doing their part. You do as little or as much as you like, basically.
