Another Delivery to Make (Flame and co. Plot)

Flame glanced at Libre, then looked at Rayma who smiled and nodded in responce to the silent question.

"I'll look after your brother while Timble looks out for you. Go get some fresh air," she told the young heir.

Flame smiled weakly and started to make her way back towards the surface with Timble.

"Poor Flame," Rayma remarked. "She'll be glad to get back home when this is over." Her eyes darkened slightly as she muttered under her breath, "Assuming there's a home to get back to."

"That's why we're out here," Libre replied firmly. "And the clans are strong. They'll be damaged but it'll take the end of Naruta itself to wipe them out completely."

Talk, talk, talk, Harmony thought with a roll of her eyes. With the kid gone, they'd get shit done faster at least. Or at least, they would if Libre would stop talking. She turned and quickened her stride, forcing Libre to start moving again or be left behind.

Once within the mountain's city, she let Libre take the lead again as he used his acquired information to find the temple to the Forces in Obsidian. Stepping inside, he turned for the Soahcian wing and called out. "I'd like to speak with an Addict here if possible! A lucid one, please."

One addict, barely old enough to have moved out of novicehood, looked up, seeming drowsy but reasonably sober. "Yes? Looking to buy?"

[Kender Bard]

"No," Libre replied with a small smile. "But I am looking for someone who may frequent here, if he's not a priest. Do you happen to know of a man named Leif?"

[Northen Light36]

"Leif... Leif..." The addict looked thoughtful. "Sounds vaguely familiar. What's he look like?" She flopped back onto her pile of pillows and reached for a pipe.

[Kender Bard]

"Tall, lanky. Long red hair in a ponytail and has stubble on his chin," Libre described. "Ring any bells for you?"

Luckily for Libre, the addict was also a music fan. "Ooh! The bard," she giggled, taking a puff of her pipe. "He comes by occassionally, but he's not one of us. Try the Monk's Goblet. He's been playing there a bit lately."

After eliciting some directions from her, Libre gave his thanks and led the little troupe out to where directed. Harmony and Libre both kept their eyes peeled, hunting for their man.

[Darastrix]

The red-haired man wasn't performing, but he was there, lounging at a corner table where the wall could help hold him up if he happened to tilt too far to the side. A thin fog seemed to hang around his head, and when he shifted to raise his pipe to his lips, it became clear where the fog came from.

[Kender Bard]

~There~ Harmony announced, nodding in Leif's direction.

Libre chewed his lip as he regarded the man. Well, he seemed comfortably at ease at least. ~Flame, we found him. Do you want me to bring you here or do you want us to try to convince him to go topside?~

Flame considered the question for a moment. She didn't particularly want to go underground again, but it'd probably be easier then convincing Leif to come up to the surface. ~I'll come there.~ They could get this over with reasonably quickly, she hoped.

[Kender Bard]

Libre teleported to the surface and then back down again with Flame and Timble. Timble, having had no excuse to remain behind, immediately froze up.

"He's there," Libre replied, pointing him out. Then his gaze abruptly went unfocused as he was pulled into a mental conversation.

~We'll get out of here soon,~ Flame murmured to Timble, her mind voice tense and uncomfortable. Taking a deep breath, she walked over to Leif. "Excuse me sir, but are you Leif?" She knew he was, he matched her vision. But asking seemed the polite way to start the conversation off.

[Darastrix]

Farfarello wordlessly shifted his position so he could better watch Flame and Libre since Timble had more or less checked out. He wasn't sure why, but he could feel the man's unease and had before, so it wasn't likely due to any real danger. He just made a note to not count on him if something came up and kept his eye peeled.

Leif looked up and gave Flame a curious look as he blew a ring of smoke up toward the ceiling. Now, who was this? "Aye.... Is someone looking to hire?"

[Kender Bard]

Libre blinked a few times as he pulled out of the mental conversation with Ann. ~I have to go to Sensatia for an emergency~ he announced to those gathered. ~I will be back as soon as I can.~ And with that, he teleported away.

Take me, Timble thought desperately, watching as Libre disappeared. He took a slight, shivery breath and turned to face Flame, staring at her rather than looking around the area as he'd normally do.
