Name: Malachi Neriya
Gender: Male
Age: 24 years (Winter birthday)
Element: Mind/Mind (One on the tip of each ring finger.)
He is 5'8" and weighs 135 lbs.
Not shown are several of Malachi's affects, which are a pentacle necklace, silver, inlaid with malachite (a design all his own); a staff, willow, flaired into a bell on top, two owl feathers and two acorns tied just below the flair, blue topaz set in the bell; a scimitar, when worn belted over his back, iron, black leather handle and sheathe, S-hilt with the tip-facing side on the dull edge, 3'0", circular pommel inlaid with carnelian; a bottle, spherical, almost constantly contains water, cork features an aquamarine topper; a small bag on his belt which contains various herbs, black cloth, star-patterned.
History: Malachi was born into the Pyremens community, and was quickly noted for his distinctive quiet. Not much for words and timid to a fault, by the age of 10 he had begun to focus less on wishing for the attention of others and more on academic pursuits, a focus greatly aided by the Neriya family's recent move to the newly founded Sensatia. This also coincided with the development of his second, left-sided sign. These events would all be a prelude to 13 years of intense study in which the distinction of whether he had been friendless or studious first would be blurred beyond recognition both to him and the few who really knew him.
At the age of 16 he left his home and currently takes up residence just south of Ilyamen in a small cabin. By the age of 20, he was already incredibly skilled with his powers. He had studied alchemy momentarily but was put off by its formulaic nature, preferring studies where exactness were less necessary. By age of 23, Malachi had realized how lonely the life of an academic can be, and so began looking for work in the nearby city with his chief intention being to meet peers, both in age and in ability.
Malachi is devoted to research and enjoys experimentation. He is, when not engrossed in research (and can get the supplies), an avid painter. His preferred fictions are myths, legends, and epics. He holds a deep respect for astronomy, and out of his superstitious nature, this also means he practices astrology. He also enjoys card-reading, is an amateur herbalist, and practices mysticism.
For all his accomplishments, Malachi is not very self-confident, and furthermore is rather selective about relationships, which directly results in his tendency for solitude. Those who can get through to him find an artistic, well-organized man, philosophical, and as a friend both reliable and loyal, though he can be nit-picky and a bit clingy.
Family: His sister Rowena, who remains in Sensatia. (Currently unsure on whether she'll be present here.)
Friends: None.
Occupation: He currently works for a tea shop, but is trying to get a job in academia.
Current Goal: Primarily the pursuit of knowledge, secondarily getting a better job, and tertiarily meeting peers, both in age and ability.
Location: As of creation, Ilyamen.
