Flame and Rayma (the scout who was now serving as Flame's guard) both grimaced. "This is not summer," muttered Rayma, making Flame smile faintly and nod in agreement.
"No shame in being glad to be home, Harmony. I know I'd be pleased to be back in Fira," Flame remarked and silently (and nervously) added, ~Can I, um, talk to you later? Without Libre around?~
She'd been rather quiet since the time she'd spent with Jack, considering what had happened between them and what it meant for her. She would have liked to talk to her aunt, sister or cousin, but she hadn't been able to think of an excuse that would explain to Libre why she wanted to take time off their quest to speak with a healer. So she'd have to swallow her pride and discomfort and talk to Harmony. If something like what had passed between her and Jack occurred again, she wanted to be prepared.

Harmony's eyes closed in bliss at that familiar touch and she returned it with a great burst of affection. ~Home. But I have guests. This is as much of a pleasure visit as it is business. We're here to talk to you and Locket so if you can grab her too, please do. I'm going to lead the group to the sitting room that Lucifer uses to greet guests, if it's empty.~
She repeated the exercise with her mother as well; she wanted her to be there as well.
Finally she opened her eyes and glanced at the group. "Sorry, talking. Come on, this way." She turned and headed for the palace. While she did, she returned Flame's question with a puzzled, ~Yeah, sure. After I get done talking to my parents after we hand these rings over.~ What on Naruta would Flame have to say to her though?

~Of course,~ Flame agreed. ~There's no rush, so take your time.~ She trailed along behind the rest of the group, lapsing back into silence as she grew lost in thought again.
Rayma fell back into step beside her and whispered softly, "Want to tell me what's bothering you?"
Flame looked up and forced a smile. "Just... thinking of home."
Rayma nodded sympathetically and patted Flame's back. "Don't worry, you'll be back on pre-dawn scout duty in no time." She laughed at the face Flame pulled. "Well if that's your attitude, little Heir, I can see you've been getting spoiled," she teased. "I'll start getting you up for dawn training sessions."
"Libre," Flame complained, though she was smiling, "Isn't a bodyguard supposed to prevent me dying? Not try to kill me herself?"

~Yay!~ came Locket's happy reply. She'd missed Harmony quite a bit. "Harmony's home," she told Delilah. The two women had been sitting and chatting in Delilah's bedroom. "I'm going to go say hello."
"I'll be along later," Delilah replied. "Give her a hug for me."
"Will do!" Locket chirped, scrambling off the bed and tearing off to the guest room.
Meanwhile, Harmony led the whole group through the hallways to the appointed meeting place. "Everyone take a seat." Timble crossed his arms and leaned against a wall. "Except you, too-stiff-to-sit."
Filly had been nearby and entered the room as they did. "Harmony!" she cried out happily and embraced her daughter tight. "Stars, but I've missed you."
"I missed you too, Mom," Harmony replied, smiling. "You know Libre." The Master bowed his head politely to Filly. "Flame is his little sister, you might recall. And Timble is his guard and Rayma is Flame's."

Flame and Rayma both gave a quick polite bow, though Flame watched Harmony and Filly's reunion with a trace of envy in her expression. "It's a pleasure to meet you again," Flame murmured with a small, rueful smile, thinking of just how badly behaved she'd been during the time Harmony and her family had been staying in Sensatia. She also had to suppress a wince at being introduced as Libre's little sister, which bugged her even if it was something she expected.

Harmony spared a glance for Master before she darted over to give Schuldig a rather enthusiastic hug, grinning broadly. ~I missed you.~
Filly smiled and gestured. "This is Master. A fellow Soahcian."
Locket reached the room then, puffing a bit from her run. "I'm here! Hi Harmony!!"
Libre shook his head with a small smile. "This room's near to bursting with Soahcians. Master, it's good to see that you're here. Judging from your comment, Schuldig informed you that we'd be seeing you at some point. How much did he tell you about the rings?"
~I missed you, too,~ he said, hugging her tight. ~Filly will probably do the whole worried thing when she gets you alone, so I'll spare you it from my end. Glad you're still in one piece, though.~
"Morilanta freed demons in the desert and the Forces are picking and choosing who they want to try to deal with it," Master answered as he examined his nails. "The chosen get rings, and we won't know what the hell is going to happen after that until the Soahc tells us."
"Which is probably not going to be until Flame finishes," Schuldig added, looking over. "According to Brad, Etaf passed out some optional assignments and info to her people after he gave over the last ring."

"Sounds like you know almost as much as we do," Flame replied with a grin. "I should warn you, we've had one case where... well, the ring bit the chosen to heal them of something. We're not sure what yet."

"But a good dosing of Gloss fixed that problem," Harmony put in. "Though I'm not sure where we'd get it, lacking an Addict..."
"We really need more priests," Locket agreed with a sigh. But the melancholy reflection passed and she grinned at Flame, almost bouncing in place. "I wanna see my ring! And the other rings! Please? Please? Now?"

Flame grinned at Locket, but she could hardly blame someone for being Curious after all. "Of course you can," she told the princess. "Here." She handed out the rings to everyone and waited to see what would happen.
