This thread is also using the Royal Ball bardic job, so counts as a mini-plot if you are playing a bard!)
The Palace of the Winds hadn't seen a ball in many years now and so Lya wasted no expense in making sure it would be a memorable one. She'd basically thrown open her doors to any bards who wanted to perform for the event, promising them a sizable pay for doing so. Caterers were brought in from outside of Talen'sul as well as what the finest her own homeland had to offer was. She'd gotten a heartrendingly beautiful gown for Luminous that would accentuate her growing womanly figure as well as a slightly-more-revealing gown for herself. Nothing too scandalous, of course. Just something to highlight her remaining beauty.
She'd sent out invitations to all of Talen'sul's noble families, the most notable and influential merchants, and several invitations to noble families outside of Talen'sul (all with children of considerable age with Luminous, of course.) And she'd let Luminous invite whoever she wished as well and so was quite certain that the Sanderson family would have received invitations.
While Luminous primped and prepared in her room, Lya descended down to the second floor to begin welcoming guests as they arrived. The bards who had decided to show up were warming up in the background.
Desira had of course pounced on the opportunity to perform at the ball. Not that she would have been excluded, otherwise. Her father's minor noble status certainly would have ensured that she received an invitation regardless. She preferred coming as a bard, though she'd dressed in her best gown of revealing Rondian silks and wispy, gossamer shawl. Now she could mingle as a highborn but draw attention with her dancing and her voice. What a perfect night this would be!
