This is a bad idea, Morrigan thought as she hesitated outside the Soahcian wing. I don't like Soahcians.
~You can't keep up your strength if you don't relax and get some rest~ Frakir told her. ~Believe me, if anyone wants you to be in good health, it'll be me.~ The demon squeezed gently on her hand and arm. ~You've been good to me. And though I can't really explain the symptoms you're having, I want to do what I can to help. The healer's solution didn't work, so... This seems like the logical next step.~
Morrigan brought up her hand to rub her bleary, gritty eyes. Frakir was right; after two nights of nightmares and waking feeling drained, she'd gone to a healer for something to ease her sleep. It hadn't helped and she was beginning to feel sick on top of things. "I think I'm just getting a stomach sickness or something similar," she mumbled aloud.
~Will that go away?~
"It should. With time."
~Then you just need something to ease you through the time. The Addicts, as you called them, will have the strong substances you were thinking of? So go ask them.~
I don't want to, Morrigan thought stubbornly. She could feel Frakir move up her arm a bit and stretch. There was a warm sensation on her cheek and neck; Frakir caressed her gently.
~We don't have to. I just want you to feel better.~
Morrigan closed her eyes and half-smiled at the gesture. Thank you. You're right, I'm being silly.
It couldn't hurt to TALK to someone after all, right? Steeling herself, she headed into the Soahcian wing and glanced around. How did you tell one path apart from the other? "Hello? I'm looking for, um, one of your.. Substance... Dealing priests?"
Oh Taed this was a bad idea.
