Deodan nods, silently moving his thumb across his neck to further indicate agreement. He holds up a hand to count down when to burst into the room.

[Kender Bard]

'After you,' she mouthed giving a somewhat mocking bow and gesture, then took her dagger out of its holding. She reached around, touched the fire sign at her back with a grimace, and began to also give a soft, whispery chant.

Deodan also withdrew his dagger before moving to position to kick the door open, ready to fling several icicle needles at the first moving target he sees before moving out of the doorway so Fausta can move in behind him, not as concerned about making extra noise as he normally would considering the walls should muffle the sound outside somewhat,

Fausta slipped in quickly behind him, using him as a shield. Then she stopped and stared in shock.

A large, fat demon stood in the room, a hulking mass of muscle with little in the way of shape or definition save for the giant mouth in the vicinity of what must have been a head. At the moment, it was tearing their mark apart. He had mercifully died already; with each chunk of flesh torn off, the demon raised the morsel to its giant razor-like maw and chomped on it. If it noticed them there, it didn't seem to care.

Deodan paused at the sight of the demon, momentarily forgetting to shower it with ice shards as his eyes widen. "What the hell is this?!" He asked in a half strangled tone in surprise.

[Kender Bard]

Fausta gave herself a mental shake. "Who cares?" she hissed and darted at the demon, slashing at it with her knife, drawing a large gash from which dark blood oozed thickly and slowly. Forces; she didn't even know where its weak points were. Did it have any?

The demon gave a pained sound and now turned its attention on the two. Fausta was closest; it turned and opened its maw wide, claws reaching out quickly for her. Fausta danced back, narrowly avoiding their grasp, swinging her dagger to cut at them. The wounds didn't seem to deter it.

"Deodan!" she gasped out, narrowly missing another swipe. "Hit it with all you've got!"

Deodan suppresses a curse before unleashing the built up ice power in the form of a single large spike of ice and launches it at the demon, followed up by following up the attack by slashing at the demon with his dagger savagely, intent on just damaging as much of it's flesh as possible.

[Kender Bard]

The demon snarled with pain, the ice digging deeply into its flesh. It whipped around, lashing out at Deodan swiftly with a claw.

It's big, strong, and fast, but at leasti t's stupid, Fausta thought. While it focused on Deodan, she caught her breath and reached back to touch her fire sign, chanting.

Unfortunately for Deodan, he was too close and too open to avoid the attack from the demon and was knocked back, bleeding from a claw wound.

[Kender Bard]

"Deo!" Fausta gasped and released a blast of flame at the creature's back. It arched, roared, flailed wildly.

Outside the building, Cloak was tense. "It's taking too long," she whispered to Calan. "And I think I hear something going on in there. Should we go in and finish things quietly?"

Deodan tried to push past the pain but the wound was unnaturally painful and he struggled just to scramble away to put more distance between him and the demon while he kept a tight grip on his dagger while shaking.

Outside Calan gives a silent nod and begins to approach the building, smoothly moving from shadow to shadow with practiced ease and speed.

The demon took one more swipe at Deodan before turning to deal with Fausta.

Doesn't take much to distract it, she noted coolly as she began dancing around desperately again as it took hard, fast swings at her. She threw more flame at it, which seemed to hurt it a little but as much as she'd have liked. "Forces, what's it going to take it kill this thing!?" she snarled.

Meanwhile, Cloak followed Calan smoothly, following in his footsteps. It was childs play to get into the building; she didn't even bother taking the route the children had. Instead she picked the rather simple lock and let them in. Already she could hear the sounds of battle more clearly. Her mouth turned down in deep disappointment.

Deodan cried out in pain before biting it off forcefully and used the wall to brace himself while he tried to tap into his ice sign again, chanting with a shaking voice.

Calan's frown deepened in both growing irritation and some confusion, even at their worst, Fausta and Deodan shouldn't be THIS sloppy. He made his way to the open door where the fight was taking place and actually froze for an instant at the sight. However he quickly shakes off his surprise and draws a stiletto from a concealed location and quickly tapped into his ice sign to spit another spike of ice at the demon in hopes of getting it to turn so he can throw the weapon into an eye socket.

Cloak gasped softly as well. Fausta narrowly avoided another swipe before Calan's efforts forced it to turn around again. His aim true, Calan's blade found its mark and the beast gave a long, anguished roar as blood poured from the socket. Still it did not fall, though now it was staggering, weakened.

Cloak darted into the room to one of the windows, grabbing the drapes and pulling them forcefully down. Then, while the demon was fully distracted, she darted over to it and looped the drapes over its face, pulling back hard and tight. Its mouth chomped at it, tearing the drapes, but the thick and heavy material didn't rip easily. "Now!" she ordered in a hiss.

Fausta knew those flailing claws were dangerous as well but there was no direction to its attacks. It was just lashing out blindly as it tried to free itself of Cloak's restraints. Half-blinded, there was no real way it could aim either. Fausta moved in and began to sink her blade into vulnerable looking points in the things body, grimacing at the nasty blood that was now getting everywhere.

Between all four, the creature was subdued and then finally lay still. After one more decisive stab, the whole mess began to dissolve. Cloak quickly moved back out of the way, dragging Fausta with her.

Once the demon finally dies, Calan steps past it's remains almost casually while keeping any of his apparel from touching it before examining Deodan's wounds with a critical eye. "Can you stand boy? It's time to go and we cannot leave evidence we were here." He spoke in a hard, uncaring tone.

Deodan pressed a hand to the worse of his injuries and nodded shakily as he began to push himself to his feet. "Of c-course..I just need to get stitched up before going home." As much as he wanted to just go home and sleep, he knew not to risk tracking blood back to the manor.
