I hope so, Winger hoped fervently. He walked in self-reflection right up to the restaurant. Winger had managed to pay extra to get a little seat off to themselves in a back corner. It was quiet, secluded, and lit by candles, seated near the bard of the house who played soft, calming music on a violin.

As soon as her eyes were closed, Winger smiled and slid out of his seat, going down on one knee in front of her and taking the ring he'd kept in a little box out of his pocket. "Teardrop Calder," he spoke earnestly, nervously. "Would you do me the greatest honor a man could ask for, and give me your hand in marriage?" He opened the box revealing a pretty golden ring with an aquamarine gemstone, flanked on either side by golden leaves to make the entire thing look like a flower.

Teardrop opened her eyes, staring at the ring with her mouth forming a little O of surprise. Speechless for a moment, she stared at the ring with happy tears slowly forming in her eyes. Finally, before the moment could become awkward or uncomfortable, she managed to find her voice and say, "Nothing would make me happier, Winger."

Winger let out the breath he hadn't been aware that he was holding in a nervous, happy laugh. He took the ring and slid it onto Teardrop's finger, beaming at the fit. Then he rose up and pulled Teardrop into a tight embrace, lowering his head to kiss her deeply.

Teardrop returned the hug and the kiss happily. When they parted for air, she continued to hold his hand even as she looked down at her new ring. "It's beautiful, Winger. I've never seen one so pretty." She looked up at him and added with a smile, "Thank you, love."

"Sounds good," Winger agreed, taking her hand. The meal paid for he began making his way back home at a brisk walk. "They're going to be so happy," he murmured, grinning widely. "And your family will too, right?"

"Of course," Teardrop replied. "I'm sure Mother's been waiting to hear this news for as long as we've known each other." She sighed happily. "My family is going to be thrilled, though Rainy will probably just roll her eyes and say it's about time. But you know what she's like."

Winger glanced around his family's home once they reached it. Teselia was sitting in a chair with Brawn sitting on the floor at her feet, his eyes closed in bliss as she rubbed his shoulders and back. Tender and Streak were nowhere to be seen. Teck was cleaning up the dishes from the family's dinner.
"Sissy, Bro, Teck," Winger called out. Brawn opened his eyes partially, smiled, and closed them again.
"Welcome home, Winger, Lady Calder," Teselia greeted with a smile. "How was your night out?"
Winger lifted the hand that had Teardrop's ring on it. "I'm getting married!"
Teck dropped a dish, fortunately not breaking it though coming close.
"Winger, that's fantastic!" Teselia called out in glee. Brawn scrambled up as well and rushed over, grabbing Winger in a bear hug, then trying to pull Teardrop into it as well.

Teardrop giggled and allowed herself to be pulled into the hug and to return it. "To answer your question, we had a wonderful night," she laughed. "And please," she added for what had to be the hundredth time, "call me Teardrop."
